Had my birthday a few days back, so I took a gander at my solar return chart. Unfortunately I'm rather terrible at interpreting the things... so would love insights from anyone who is better at it. Natal chart in link below. ------------------ My chart: https://i.pinimg.com/564x/f8/94/9b/f8949ba84e82b9596b77bd5098a17021.jpg IP: Logged |

As a stand-alone chart, the main focus appears to be the Learning Triangle ... Sun+Venus/Moon/Mars.But note the NN at the Anaretic Degree ... and the highly viisible Mercury, as the most elevated planet. IP: Logged |

Thank you Graham! I suppose the meaning of a Learning Triangle is evident from the naming of it? Some sort of lesson to be learned in accordance with the energies involved? Also, I've never payed much attention to anaretic degrees, what sort of meaning would you ascribe to the North Node on such a degree? Mercury on the Midheaven and Venus conjunct Sun where the first things that got my attention when I looked at this solar return chart. I have Mercury conjunct MC in Cancer in my natal chart as well, in fact Mercury is just a minute or so away from its natal position, and all the angles and house cusps in this Solar Return are close to where they are in my natal chart too. Does this similarity to the natal chart indicate anything about the coming year as well?

Yes ... and, as you know, the specifics of that lesson can be identified by reviewing the events arising from past progressions and transits to the natal planets in the Learning Triangle.

Think of the anaretic degree as a doorway between two rooms, and yourself as standing in that doorway - leaving room 1 to enter room 2. ... But, an unextinguished cigarette is still burning in room 1 - and needs to be dealt with before engaging in the room 2 activities.Hence, planets at anaretic degrees are highlighting an issue/final-lesson-of-the-sign that needs to be resolved before the person is ready to SAFELY move on to the lessons of the next sign. So ... what is the Gemini lesson that you have not yet fully resolved?

As a stand-alone (revealing the 12-months-long story of the Sun/self-expression), the Solar Chart is providing an opportunity to see Mercury at Cancer 7 manifesting without its natal aspects to other planets. ... As a transit chart, it is activating those natal Mercury-to-other-planet relationships.Hence ... this is the year to focus upon how natal Mercury influences/impacts upon your self-expression. ... (For example ... might that be why the SR North Node is at the anaretic degree of Gemini? Particularly as natal Chiron is in Gemini and SR Chiron is in a Tsquare with Mercury/ruler of Gemini and the Ascendant.) IP: Logged |

I'm so late in answering this! My apologies Graham, real life came and stole my attention completely for a while, after which I had forgotten all about my query. Your reply really helps, so thank you very much!Somewhere along the way I lost the spontaneity and sociable nature of Gemini. Maybe as my progressed Mercury went retrograde and lost the company of Mars, which also coincided with progressed Sun entering Cancer. Idk... In any case, I used to be much more social and impulsive, and more verbally witty too, in my teens. Unrestrained in a way that I miss. Considering the energies involved I think that might be the lesson I need to relearn. IP: Logged |
