From READING 1206-13 Given on November 23, 1941"...if ye would take each day, through thy experience, two almonds, ye will never have skin blemishes, ye will never be tempted even in body toward cancer nor towards those things that make blemishes in the body-forces themselves." From READING #3180-3 Given on December 21, 1943 "...almonds are good and if an almond is taken each day, and kept up, you'll never have accumulations of tumors or such conditions through the body. An almond a day is much more in accord with keeping the doctor away, especially certain types of doctors, than apples. For the apple was the fall, not almond - for the almond blossomed when everything else died. Remember this is life!" Waht do you think? IP: Logged |

I've heard that almonds are very healthy, though I didn't know specifically for what other than that they are good for improved memory and concentration. IP: Logged |

Cayce was on point about so many things, I certainly don't see how it could hurt! I wonder if anyone has actually tried this?Hopeful IP: Logged |

Hi Mambo Hmm I don't know much about almonds - other than I like them Here are some reasons why they say you should eat apples. I'll see if I can find any similar info about almonds Sue Five Reasons To Eat An Apple Every Day Your Diet - Apples are the perfect, portable snack: great tasting, energy-boosting, and free of fat. Your Heart - Research confirms it! The antioxidant phytonutrients found in apples help fight the damaging effects of LDL (bad) cholesterol. Your Digestion - Just one apple provides as much dietary fiber as a serving of bran cereal. (That's about one-fifth of the recommended daily intake of fiber.) Your Lungs - An apple a day strengthens lung function and can lower the incidence of lung cancer, as well. Your Bones - Apples contain the essential trace element, boron, which has been shown to strengthen bones - a good defense against osteoporosis. And here's a "apple" health link..... http://www.bestapples.com/new/healthy/ Here's an almond health link... http://www.nbc6.net/toyourhealth/1411042/detail.html IP: Logged |

Hi Muse If you go to www.amazon.com then click on books (at top of page), then in the search column (top left) type in Edgar Cayce. It brings up 298 "results" - all books by him. SueIP: Logged |

Can people who are allergic to peanuts still eat other legumes and such? Sunflower seeds are powerfully health-giving to the body. And yummy, too! ------------------ "Never mentally imagine for another that which you would not want to experience for yourself, since the mental image you send out inevitably comes back to you." When I was a kid, I also ate the shell of the sunflower seed, was that healthy? Have you ever had toasted pumpkin seeds? IP: Logged |

Cayce also said that the almonds should be raw, sweet almonds. I have been eating raw almonds, off and on, for years - ever since I read this reading from Cayce. There are times when I run out of them and forget for a while, like now -- it has been about two months. But I eat them almost everyday for several months before I do run out. Gotta go get some! Wow, I can't believe this thread, I just posted an Apple thread on Health and Healing, and I eat apples and raw almonds every day!!!! We are supposed to have like 100 grams of dietary fiber a day, which is much more than the FDA recommends. We are supposed to eat raw foods as much as possible. Almonds have some essential fatty acids that are good for our body. Apples have chromium, which is a mineral which regulates our blood sugar, and also helps us not *crave* sugar. IP: Logged |

I have a few books in my weird and wonderful collection that tell me that Almonds remove toxic waste from the body. They also say that peanuts are not safe due to a type of mouldy fungus that grows within the shell. Walnuts and Brazil nuts are also bad for you because they absorb extra radio active material from natural surroundings. Apparently, the one and only safe nut in the house is an Almond - not including myself of course!IP: Logged |

Hi Tink,I been lucky enough to be able to travel quite a bit and live in different countries around the world. I lived in Brazil for four and a half years where I met a very interesting guy who was a studying nuts... The eating kind!!! Sergio was properly studying them. He was doing chemical analysis on Brazil nuts, ascertaining substances and elements within the nuts for the Brazilian goverment.I swear to you it's all true. He was really intense about it too. He once came to dinner and handed me this pod thing. It looked a bit like a coconut from out of space. When you cracked the thing open it was full of Brazil nuts. You know, I had no idea they grew inside a cocoon. Anyway he kept telling me not to eat too many because they absorbed toxic chemicals. When I left he gave me a book about nuts. Some of my friends would argue it was the perfect gift for me. I have to tell you that I went right off Brazil nuts after that. IP: Logged |

Interesting about nuts. Today I went to a N.P. who specializes in Women's Hormones. She told me to eat almond butter instead of peanut butter, because of the mold thing. She said almonds and walnuts are the best nuts for you to eat. IP: Logged |
