Hello Carlo, Thankyou- You have lifted my heart. What a wonderful picture & what wonderful women! This is the most hopeful & inspiring news item I have seen for a long time. It is so refreshing to hear from other people who are anti-war. My Wizard & I will be travelling to London to protest against the war on 15th February. Love & Peace, Orange Blossom xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Very artsy, but do you think any hawks are going to take these folks seriously? They probably look at it and laugh. Most of the people cheering in the crowd probably just wanted the women to strip. Frankly, did the protests during the Vietnam war accomplish anything, really?--I think we pulled out when the military was ready, not because those protesting convinced anyone in Washington to do so.I come from a military family--my Dad, four brothers and I all served in one branch of the military or the other. I served four years during the Vietnam era. I'm not a hawk, myself, but I've never seen much positive action from protests. Just my opinion. moth IP: Logged |

I think the naked ladies will get their attention and if they at least get them to consider not doing it, than that is good, and trust me, men tend to side with naked ladies than clothed ladies, that's just the way it is. I mean heterosexual ones to be correct. They may not even notice a subconcious urge to want peace. Sex drives men A LOT. ------------------ Food is the only art that nourishes! IP: Logged |

I think the naked women protesting is much more than simply artsy. Their naked bodies spell the word PEACE. They are taking a stand for what they believe to be right & true. They are proudly speaking their truth to the 1000s of people who will see these pictures. The army, of course, has billions of pounds worth of weapons with the potential to kill millions of men, women & children. These women are without weapons, they are completely naked, they are using their own bodies to send a strong message. I do not think it is important whether a protest is 'successful'- it is the action of standing up for your truth, standing up for what you believe that is important. And of course each & every soldier was born from a woman's body, each & every soldier was a child- an innocent baby, before they decided to become a hired murderer. These brave women in the photo are- like millions of people worldwide- PEACEFULLY protesting against war. Throughout the centuries, think of all the people who have made peaceful protests... Martin Luther King, Ghandi, Nelson Mandella, Bob Marley, the Suffragettes...surely all these people have made a positive difference to our world, without resorting to murdering other human beings. Protesting does make a difference. Taking to the streets & shouting proudly that this war IS NOT IN MY NAME, does make a difference, I believe that everyone has their own truth to tell & that each & every person does make a difference. I think the leaders of many countries would love us to believe we have no power & no voice, but each person is valuable & their voices do matter. *** "You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees & the stars. You have a right to be here....In the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery & broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy." *** Anonymous "All we are saying is give peace a chance" John Lennon & Yoko Ono "You may say I'm a dreamer but I'm not the only one, I hope someday you'll join us & the world will live as one." Hey CarloYou've got your Governors mixed up. It's California's Gray Davis who's about to be recalled for his inept incompetent bungling and political corruption. On the other hand, we all love Jeb, best Governor we've ever had. jwhop IP: Logged |

Grrr... My alarm stopped dead when at the exact time I set it to go off intead of actually going off. I woke up at 7:30 (we were meeting up at Union Station @ 6 AM), so I didn't make it. So, I'm watching Cartoon Network (go Justice League) instead of rallying.P'haps it's for the best, though - I'm not sure about a bus in the weather we're having over here today. I hope ya'll left coasters have better luck IP: Logged |
