The bottom line is this: Discuss all ideas diplomatically in Lindaland. Freedom of expression is encouraged, but DO NOT attack your fellow Knowflakes. Differences of opinions are to be expected, but personal insults will not be tolerated. There will be no censorship of ideas or the free expression thereof, but that expression must be within the context of Love and Light. I hate to have to lay down the law in such a heavy-handed fashion, but those who stoop to personal attacks and insults will be permanently dismissed. I'd hate to see valued Members have their posting privileges revoked due to childish personal attacks, but if that's what it takes to keep the Peace, so be it. There are plenty of discussion boards on the Net where you can freely say whatever you please with no regard for others' feelings, but this isn't one of them. If total freedom of speech (with no regard for others) is what you are after, then you probably don't belong in Lindaland and should seek out other online communities for the expression of your opinions. If it takes banning a dozen Knowflakes so the majority of us can have the Peace we deserve in Lindaland, then I won't hesitate to do so. All viewpoints are valid and deserve our respect whether or not we personally agree with those viewpoints, and each of us should be able to express our disagreement respectfully. If these Topics cause you to lose your temper, then it would be best that you not say anything at all, than for you to risk expulsion by hurling personal insults out of anger. We are all in this together. Please, respect everyone here, whether you personally agree with their philosophies, opinions, and ideas or not.

In this Forum, I exposed my point of view, I answered questions and I even tried to give some solutions, and inside my heart I have the full conviction that I didn't attack anyone personally , indeed, I attacked a government's attitudes, but I never attacked a people or any knowflake in particular, in spite of being attacked personally...
Especially because it would be a paradox... how can I defend PEACE IN THE WORLD, if I cannot live in peace with my neighbor ?

I understand that the wound of 9/11 can explain this attack ...but, in oposition of some thoughts,I believe in Peace... I don't and I won't believe that war creates Peace... in any moment of the history that happened...

If God gave us the power of the word and the power of the argument, we should use this until the end... just people that don't know how to dialogue, make use of violence, in home, in personal relationships and creating wars...

I believe that we should position ourselves, we must have our convictions and defend our objectives, but in a pacific way ...
Do you remember Ghandi and Martin Luther King ?
They won their wars without lifting a single weapon... if they got, why can't we ?

I cry for all those that are in the battlefields defending their countries, American, British, Iraquian... I cry for these men's families and I cry for the whole human race that once again loses a little bit of its innocence before the images that all of us are witnessing... and the worst is that this is just the beginning...

And when I see 10 million people in 600 cities around the world in the same day , protesting against this war, the only conclusion that I have is that in the end, the great winner of these days of fear and uncertainty is Osama bin Laden, that hates the United States, despises Saddam, and, if he is alive, he should be dribbling in his beard with the confusion that he armed.

Saddam is history, the American government is the "bad guy" of the moment, the indignation of Islam increased... therefore, the world is like Osama wanted... yes, he got his objective....

Okay...I was out of topic, but what I wanted to say is that I want to apologize if I, in any moment, offended you or any knowflake... if that happened, believe me, it was not my intention.

For any insults I've thrown out, I'm sorry.
I think I've already apologized (in one form or another) to those who they were addressed to, even if the favor was not returned. It's just that my Scorp moon makes it very hard to bite my tongue when the insults keep coming. I will try harder though.

Things do get heated; it's understandable considering the dire straits we collectively seem to be in right now but it's no reason why we need to start fighting amongs ourselves. The fact that we are all here and have read and loved Linda's books goes to show that we must have plenty of common ground, no matter how sharply divided we may be on other issues.
Lets not lose sight of that fact!

If it's any consolation, I'm conservative.

I have to hold my tongue quite a bit around here these days. And if I can do it, everyone should be able to.

In the heat of politics and emotion, it was forgotten.

There are many other places on the Internet where people can go to discuss the war, politics, etc., in depth, where other moderators are not as conscientious about maintaining an "agree-to-disagree" atmosphere as you are.

I must say I was relieved to see your topic posted!
