By the way ... for those of you who don't know who Rodney King is, he was an African-Americn man who was beaten by L.A police officers. The beating was caught on video tape. In April of 1992, after a lengthy trial, the officers were found not guilty. The verdict started a riot in Los Angeles that cost L.A millions of dollars. (The idiots burned down and looted their own homes and businesses.) If you would like more information about that day, here is a link to a report from a well known KTLA news anchor, Stan Chambers ... http://www.citivu.com/ktla/sc-ch1.html While LA was burning, a news reporter asked Rodney King if he had anything to say, his response was "Cant' we all just get along." Now let's also not forget that Rodney King was on PCP at the time and the beginning part of the video show him throwing off cops like they were little bugs. I know this as it was view, in full, at an area forensic meeting to show media bias and how cases are tried in the forum of public opinion. Mr. King also went on to face several arrests, one of which was for battery against a woman. IP: Logged |

It might also be helpful to know that Rodney King was fleeing the California Highway Patrol and led them on a chase at speeds exceeding 110 mph before he was finally stopped. http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/lapd/kingarrests.html jwhop IP: Logged |

Yeah, the story in total is presented at many of the forensic meetings, just like the total OJ Simpson case. There are so many things that a jury doesn't get to see because of savvy lawyers. King was a loon, but the cops should have known better than to risk their careers, but then again, in the heat of the moment, when you have already been beaten up by the guy, you do what you can to restrain them.
