i would love to go there too lioneye. i was watching an interesting show on tlc tonight, about archaeology (a passion of mine) in jerusalem. they were finding things in the tombs in the 'hell' valley right beside jerusalem, and they found a shroud from 1c ce. (common era)
it was quite a monumental find
they also proved well beyond my satisfaction that the famed shroud of turin is medieval, most likely from the 14th c. ce, through carbon dating and other scientific tests. the shroud dates from the time of the crusades.
i always knew the shroud was not what they thought it was. nice to have the facts though.
~faery, who would LOVE to go to the middle east one day... but probably wont, cause shes too scared
