Hey- this may sound weird, but does anyone know of any good weekend vacation spots in the U.S.? I'm thinking of meeting a friend somewhere, but don't know where. Trying not to do anything too hot.

Oxychick, you're in NYC, right?
If you're looking for something close, you can't go wrong with the Lancaster Pennsylvania area, especially this time of year. It's so very lovely! Lots of wonderful farmers' markets, Amish markets, beautiful roads for long drives, outlet malls, lovely little towns with quaint shops, good restaurants...wanna hear more?

How about New Orleans and the plantations of Louisiana...so mysterious and full of intrigue. You can even see world famous haunted Myrtles Mansion/Plantation. Oh, and of course, the Cities of the Dead in New Orleans are very cool as well, so I've heard. You can have dinner and drinks on a riverboat, see the Bayoue, the alligator capital of the world.
Tres tres interesting. (not to mention the night life in N.O. and the restaraunts)

oh guys, every looks/sounds so beautiful-they're all great ideas.

aphrodite-Napa Valley is one of the few U.S. spots I've wanted to visit. Thanks for the suggestion. I thought maybe I'd scared you off with that picture.

jwhop-I can't picture anything more relaxing.

trillian, Yep, I've been there! I love PA actually and used to have friends there. Ah, I love the quaint towns.

I'm also thinking of N'Awlins or New England for the foliage...don't know yet though. I don;t even know if this trip will go through-it's more of an idea that I'm having. But either way, it's good to hear all of these suggestions!!

Lioneye-we musty have been posting at the same time. I'm telling you, you're scaring me with all of these parallels lately. You and my other Leo/Aqua buddy.

If you can`t come see me definetly New Orleans. My dream city and someday.....

I have the oddest desire to see the above ground cemetaries. Everything else would be frosting on the cake.

She has an ex popping up from her past as well, proposing very similar life changes. And I also meant that she and I are having a lot of parallels with each other.

You are also bringing up certain issues that are very important to me as well.
