So, what do you think?

I'm not a Kerry fan. Just like I wasn't a Gore fan. But I'm not a Bush fan either. I will vote as I did last time. Nader.

I don't imagine he'll win, but I REFUSE to vote my fears! Besides... won't matter much here in Washington... just like Gore, Kerry will win in our state.

The following is exactly why I will continue to vote for Nader.

From Star Signs:

quote:
Once upon a time there was a young man who was born to poverty-stricken parents. He wasn't able to go to school, so he taught himself. He dreamed of being a lawyer, but no one would hire him.

When he completed military service, he decided to use his self-administered study of the law to enter politics, so he ran for a seat in the Senate. He was defeated by a large majority.

So he temporarily retired from the law and politics and became a storekeeper. His store went bankrupt, and he spent the next seventeen years of his life paying off his debts, picking up whatever odd jobs he could. But his daydreams continued to urge him on.

He fell in love, married, struggled to support his family, and then again entered politics - as a candidate for Congress. He was elected by a very narrow margin, but when he ran for re-election, he was humiliatingly defeated.

Next, he tried to get a position with the United States Land Office, but they refused to hire him. It seemed that everywhere he went, he was ridiculed because of his poor background, his lack of education and social graces. He held up his head, ignored his hurt pride, and decided to run for the United States Senate. Both his friends and enemies, even his family, laughed at him behind his back. Once again, he was defeated.

Eventually, he was nominated for Vice-President at the political convention of a major party. On the final ballot, he lost again - to a political unknown. Running again for Senate, he waged a campaign which captured the imagination of a nation, but which resulted in only another defeat.

Still, he never stopped following his "daydreams". He didn't dwell on his failures. He continued to intensely and fiercely pursue the ideals and principles in which he believed. And finally, at the age of fifty, wounded by heartache and scarred by repeated defeats, but still clinging fast to his destined life path, Abraham Lincoln became President of these United States.

John Edwards is a cutie. Too bad he's a bottom feeder (a trial atty).

I'm fairly lukewarm on Mr. Edwards, I don't know enough about him to form an opinion. Unfortunately I do know enough about Kerry to form one, so regardless of whatever redeeming qualities Mr. Edwards may have, it's overshadowed by his running mate.

But seriously, those of you that are voting for Kerry, what do you think of his pick of running mates?

CAMPAIGN 2004
John Edwards Launches Positive Dirty Personal Attacks Against John Kerry

With just 24 hours left before Super Tuesday, the biggest day on the primary calendar, John Edwards tried to narrow the gap with John Kerry by directing a series of upbeat negative messages designed to malign the character of the Massachusetts senator in an amiable way.

“There is no doubt in my mind that the distinguished liberal slimeball would make wonderful president,” said the smiling Edwards during a debate in New York where as he hurled friendly, cheerful smears at Kerry.

“When hell freezes over,” he added.

Edwards went on to praise Kerry's long career of lackluster service, his bold, determined ability never to take a courageous stand on any issue, and his truly awe-inspiring dullness as an individual.

“Surely nobody would make a better second-place finisher to President Bush than John Kerry,” Edwards asserted positively.

Why would Kerry want Edwards for his running mate?!

He is handsome though... you've got that right, Isis

Ralph Nader gave his thumbs up for Edwards, and that's good enough for me, since I have so much respect for Nader...

..btw Linda Goodman liked Nader too...she said she'd vote for him no matter what he ran for....

I didn't know that about Linda Goodman, Rainbow. Thanks for sharing!

I love Ralph Nader SO much! If I saw him, I think I would run up hug him with everything I have.

Anyhow... Isis wants this string to continue on about Kerry/Edwards and those that will vote for him.

I guess I really have no place in this discussion.

P.S. High Five, BRM... or should I say BPM ... with the purrdy sparkly blue eyes

YAAAAAAY! **hehehe BPM**

I find I have to defend my choice to vote for Nader more and more as the election nears. I went on a rant about it in my Live Journal today actually.

I think I'd hug him, too. I saw him on Hannity and Colmes last night and he was just brilliant.

Hehehe, ghanima81, perhaps you'll want to start a write in candidate campaign for Ben Stiller....if he's an American born citizen that is?

Ummmm, what's his position on hair care products?

I don't know his position on hair care products, but this made me think of Something About Mary when he answered the door for Cameron Diaz and laughed out loud.

Maybe his position is "natural" hair care?... especially styling products.

I have another very meaningful story to share, unfortunately not from Star Signs:

"Once, a long long time ago, there was a numbskull who felt that because young peoples' brain cells have not been dying for as long as adults', they should not be allowed to vote."

Because of that very sad story, I will not be allowed to vote in this election... I guess I'll just have to wait until Kerry's reelction in 2008.
In regard to the Kerry-Edward ticket, I would have preferred McCain for the lead he gave the Senator over Bush-Cheney.... but Edwards will do.
