Currently running for a U.S. Senate seat for Illinois and considered by many to be an up-in-comer in both the Dem party and politics in general, Barak Obama gave the keynote speech last night at the Democratic Convention.I think it's worth a read, regardless of political affiliation: Text of Obama's Address If I can find video of it, I'll post that link, too. Yep, he certainly impressed me, especially looking past the partisan nods obligatory to a Convention speech.I found the audio: http://www.npr.org/display_pages/features/feature_3624813.html?place=home01 There's a link to a Real Player feed at the top. IP: Logged |

I heard the speech, and I was impressed too.....I've heard them all, so far (those that have been televised, anyway).... Two of my favorite speakers were Carter and Kennedy...loved Al Gore too tho.... LOve, Rainbow IP: Logged |

Kennedy was looking very good. But who really impressed me was John Edwards he is an excellent speaker. I'm looking forward to the Republican Convention, they've got theirs at Madison Square Garden. I love the whole Boston and New York City theme. I'm from Boston if someone doesn't already know, and it has been a lot of fun seeing all these important people right near your doorstep. -StarLover IP: Logged |

I am not disgusted. After three years many know the best man won. The thought of Palin & McCain being in the hot seat through all of this repair sickens me. And a massive repair job is what it is... Triage is what we have been experiencing. Where Obama goes with his next 4 years is the true crux. IP: Logged |

Ummm Node, only 18% think the country is heading in the right direction. The other side of that same coin is that 82% think the country is heading in the wrong direction.demoscats control 2/3rds of the machinery of the federal governmant. Wednesday, October 05, 2011 Eighteen percent (18%) of Likely U.S. Voters now say the country is heading in the right direction, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey taken the week ending Sunday, October 2. Then Node, there's the October 2012 Gallup Poll of O'Bomber's Job Approval. Only 39% approve of the job O'Bomber is doing. A whopping 53% disapprove of O'Bomber job performance. http://www.gallup.com/poll/113980/Gallup-Daily-Obama-Job-Approval.aspx If I were O'Bomber and his Socialist comrades in congress, I'd get my resume updated...fast!

The numbers do tell the story Randall...and it's not a good story for O'Bomber and demoscats in general. There's this ABC New/Washington Post poll which says only 37% think O'Bomber will be reelected. Majority Expects Obama to Lose Re-Election Oct 3, 2011 A majority of Americans expect Barack Obama to be a one-term president, an assessment on which, in past elections, the public more often has been right than wrong. Just 37 percent in a new ABC News/Washington Post poll say they expect Obama to win re-election in November 2012; 55 percent instead expect the eventual Republican nominee to win. ABC’s George Stephanopoulos is asking the president about that result in an interview today..... http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2011/10/majority-expects-obama-to-lose-re-election/

I'd choose just about anyone over who we currently have in office. Much of the country would agree. I do like Rick Perry, though.------------------ "Fall down 100 times, get up 101...this is success." --ME IP: Logged |
