Ozone,

Have you looked into joining a program? I know that you are a veteran, maybe you can get help through one of the organizations and meet with people that have gone through similar ordeals as you have.

I am so sorry that you are in this "place" right now. My prayers are with you.

Ozone,
It really pained me to read this. I feel for you. Please know you are loved here and we will help you in anyway we can. Have you sought any help yet? I know of a book you might want to pick up. I have not read it, but I think it is worth looking into. It uses a different approch than AA does. It is called The Small Book: A Revolutionary Approach to Overcoming Drug and Alcohol Dependence (Rational Recovery Systems). By Jack Trimpey and Albert Ellis.

There are ways to overcome this Ozone. And I applaud you for taking a step and reaching out to us. You are not alone - we will try to give you the best support here that we can. Please look into the many options that are availiable to you. I send you my love and prayers.

Ozonefiller we love you and never say die. I don't know much about the inner workings of alcoholism but I do know a little bit about addiction in general. This will help a little: drink much more water than you do now (I mean way more). It will not only help with dehydration but water does improve the internal disposition (emotional and so forth) when things have gone awry with foreign substances.
Come around to the other forums okay?

I was always too ashamed to talk about it, but I've come to the point that I'm so tired what this is doing to me and wyhat it has made me out to be.

Alcoholism IS truely a desease, that cam really take a person to they're own destruction! While most people nomally enjoy it as "something to do" others like me feel that it is the ONLY thing to do, no matter what you have in life, people like me tend to lose sight of those things and along with it, the things that are around the alcoholic, seemed to more and more dissapear in the alcoholics life, friends family, home, often run-ins with the law, etc, etc, etc.

It has gotten to the point where I'm so sick and tired of it and all I just want to do is to be free from this pain!

It's the only true weakness that I have, but it's the only weakness that has ever really devastated me and my life!

Ozone....I would say you're reaching out...

You've talked about it and to me, that's an indication that you're willing to take some first steps in conquering this thing...Please seek help...get to some AA meetings or read the book 26taurus recommended...

I have some very close loved ones who have battled with this demon, and it's been a big heartache...One is not "practicing" alcohol abuse anymore....and one still is (much to my dismay)...*sigh*

...My non-practing alcoholic loved one used the RATIONAL RECOVERY approach with great results...(read about Rational Recovery in the book 26taurus recommended)...He has not touched anything alcoholic for four years...(for which I am grateful every day of my life)

Good luck....

Love,
Rainbow

Musy mushy gushy gushy, Ozone

I've wondered to myself before about you and alcoholism.

You've reached out for help... that's a great first step... the will to stop.

((((Ozone))))) lemme know if there's anything I can do to help. Promise, I won't antagonize you

If you don't air your dirty laundry, there's no way to get the stink out!

I don't know how much you know about me, Ozone, but I've shared a lot about my life in other parts of the forum. I grew up in an alcoholic home. My (step)dad is recovering (clean for about 5 years). Mom's still a drunk though Her nose is bulbus, her moods are out of control, she shakes... I could go on and on. If you'd like to talk, I'd be more than happy to listen sometime.

One more mushy gushy hug (((Ozone))) ... I can't help it I'm affectionate

OK... I have something else to add.

Selfmedication... that's what we do when we know something is wrong. Do you suffer from anxiety, Ozone? Xanax, Klonopin, and alcohol are the top three anxiety inhibitors.

I know there are also drugs available that will help subdue withdrawl symptoms. Alcohol withdrawl can be pretty severe.

Hon, I think you should go see your doctor... If you don't have one, get one. Talk with them about what you have going on.

((((OZ))))

Ozone - Much love and light to you honey.

I work for a rehab here in Central Missouri, and I must say you have just taken the first major step - admitting you have a problem and have hit your bottom. I urge you to now take the next step and admit yourself to a program. It's scary, I know. But what is more scary , trying to change what's happening to you? Or allowing yourself to sink to death? Do NOT think that because you have this disease your life is worthless. It's priceless!!! There are many people who love and care for you - even those of us who have never met you.
I don't know where you live but here are some suggestions. Find an AA meeting and ask people about rehab centers. If you have insurance you can ask your insurance company. If you don't have insurance call your local Department of Family Services (or whatever it is called in your state) for state funded facilities. Check the internet. I work for Valley Hope Association. We have centers in Kansas, Nebraska, Colorado, Arizona, and Oklahoma, besides the one here in Missouri.
One thing to look for is a center whose program has a strong spiritual component. I'm not saying Christian based, but spiritual. That is a major aspect of a 12 Step program. At Valley Hope we have had Muslims, Jews, Wiccans, etc. Belief in a Higher Power, higher than you and alcohol, will be an invaluable aid as you fight this disease.

Ozone, allow me to help in any way I can. Randall has my permission to give you my e-mail if you need to talk or would like help searching for a center. Please don't give up.

Much love, light, and blessings to you.

I just want to say that thank you guys for all of your support and I will try that! Lately, I've been very depressed and I was at the point that I didn't know that I really mattered and that anybody that would really care about me or what I was going through, well, that ain't true, but I was feeling like that my life was pointless and all I was doing in this world is just taking up everybody elses space and waisting everybody's time in this place and lately(as I would see it the news) things look as if it isn't going to get any better anytime soon, but I guess we are just going to have to wait and see.

I just feel a little alone and I didn't think that I would make really much of a difference sometimes, but I want to thank you guys and my love for you guys goes out to you too!

My goes out to you - you've truly made the toughest step and the rest is mostly upwards from here if you keep on the path. You can do it. If you can take on the likes of Jwhop, Pid and I, you can definitely beat this thing
