http://www.ship.edu/~cgboeree/erikson.html There's some interesting stuff about miscellaneous identity issues we experience in various stages of development throughout our lives. The introduction presents a terrific analogy between the modern adolecent's transition into young adulthood, and the experience of Lakota children confronted with the expectations of an alien culture and educational system, in place of, what had been, a hallowed tradition of ritual vision questing, wherein each individual's life role is defined clearly and once-and-for-all, by way of a dream resulting from over-exhaustion and acute malnutrition.
Presented are some of artist/psychologist Erick Erickson's theories on personal development.
