http://apnews.excite.com/article/20040920/D857JTE80.html The militant on the video called President Bush "a dog" and addressed him, saying, "Now, you have people who love death just like you love life. Killing for the sake of God is their best wish, getting to your soldiers and allies are their happiest moments, and cutting the heads of the criminal infidels is implementing the orders of our lord."

The militant on the video called President Bush "a dog" and addressed him, saying, "Now, you have people who love death just like you love life. " What does this mean? You would think these militants would have said "Now you have people who love death just like you love death"....... What do you (or anyone) make of this statement? IP: Logged |

Naw, they said that they love death as we love life - and by that I think that they mean that they'd welcome death through "jihad" as readily and eagerly as we'd ferociously fight to stay alive.IP: Logged |

I think at this point that this particular strain of thought is attempting to inspire fear - for those who love thier lives, what's more to fear than an enemy which welcomes, even seeks, death? We're not the only ones with PsyOps. They don't care who wins this election. Most likely in their minds, America is America is America whatever the political tides of the time.IP: Logged |

Proxie, agreed. But I think we like to believe they hate us because of our 'lives of plenty.' Which is probably a terrible error on our part. It's more likely, they hate us for the power we exert over the Middle East and the politics there. The Devil's Advocate in me, while she abhors the violence, also thinks, wouldn't we feel the same if another country imposed its politics on us? We too have been capable of heinous crimes. *sigh* IP: Logged |
