Former Poster Girl for Abortion Endorses Bush

Norma McCorvey, the former darling of the left who was the plaintiff in the Supreme Court's Roe vs. Wade decision that concocted a right to abortion, has endorsed President Bush's re-election.

"McCorvey became a pro-life Christian in 1995 and renounced her role in the landmark Court decision. She now works full-time to get that decision reversed. In 1998, she was received into the Catholic Church," Christian Wire Service reported today.

McCorvey's statement:

"In 2000, I voted for the first time, because I wanted to vote for President Bush. I am the former 'Jane Roe' of the Supreme Court's abortion decision Roe vs. Wade, and I am writing this note in my personal capacity, not as the representative of any organization. This year I am going to vote to re-elect President Bush, because he is committed to the cause of life and wants our nation to make room to welcome and protect every unborn child. Unless we do that, we can never have a world of social justice. I urge all my pro-life friends to likewise vote for the President."

So, jwhop, would you consider a woman who changes her mind on an important issue
1.a wise woman, 2.a liar, 3.a damned liar,
4.a flip-flopper or 5.a fool?

Something to think about......

That would depend entirely on why she changed her mind.

For instance, if a person came into possession of information that John Kerry is a lying snake who betrayed his country and DIDN'T change their mind about voting for John Kerry, I would think that person a fool.

For some reason you are under the impression that I am a Kerry supporter. I am not. I am merely not a supporter of Bush. Say what you will about that, I have every right to not support him. I support the system of the American government, (or at least it's democratic way of governing) but not certain aspects of the president's ideals and policies. Although I do feel he has some of our best interests at heart, he is in the difficult position of being our leader in a time like this, and I do not agree with certain infringements on our civil liberties. I would not want to live in a nation that was not a democracy, but it pains me that measures have to be taken to protect our nations security that take away some of our freedoms. The concept of war disturbs me, but I would not want to be in the position that he is in at the moment, as I don't know what is really going on (fair enough) and would be horrified to have to make decisions that put lives in danger. I don't know if I'm making the point I want to here...

What I'm getting at is I don't think Kerry would be able to do a better job, but I also don't know if anyone would, really... the world is too damn scary a place for people to encompass the truth. I just have a wish for peace, for everyone, I think it is their right as much as it is mine.

If this makes no sense, I apologize, it's been a long day of work and studying.

Well, I never viewed you as a rabid Kerry supporter, so what I said was not directed at you or intended to get you to defend. It was only a stark example of why a person would possibly change their mind about something they firmly believed in before.

Sure, what you said makes perfect sense to me. Long days and study do too
