Because Janet Jackson's booby popped out at the SuperBowl the FCC has been on a rampage, and ABC was too scared to deal with the censorship issue so they pulled the movie off the air.

Bah. Who cares? It would be edited like crazy anyhow. I hate watching movies on network TV.

WRONG, it was going to be totally UNCUT for Veteran's Day!

Censorship is a serious issue, and it shouldn't be overlooked. You should care, so I don't hear people like you complain later.

Off subject. I just want an answer.

Why waste your life having children? Sorry, but I blame society's problems on irresponsible parents. Parents who shouldn't be parents. I don't mean you, just people in general.

Some stations pulled it off, and other's didn't. They're showing Far and Away where I live.

Funny how THIS shouldn't be censored, but other things should.

Guess it's all relative, isn't it?

If Private Ryan shouldn't be censored, than neither should Howard Stern.

How come you're so snide? Don't you get enough hugs?

P.S.

There's plenty of things I could do without hearing from people like you.

It's all in context. Saving Private Ryan is educational while Howard Stern is simply vulgur and gratuitous. They're totally separate.

P.S. Sorry I haven't been getting good sleep.

Has anyone considered that PRIVATE RYAN might not be showing because it just might bring home to people, the horrors of war, and what our young people are going thru now....all thanks to the madman currently holding the office of presidency here?

Wouldn't be good for bush and his cronies...*sigh*

It was a great movie. I saw it three times.

I agree with Rainbow, we are involved in some serious fighting right now in Fallujah (sp?) and lots of people have sons and husbands over there in that battle.

Private Ryan was a movie that depicted war as it really is, and had a strong message. It might not go over with families of fighting men in Iraq at this time.

Would be even worse to show "The Thin Red Line."

P.S. I find Howard Stern disgusting. Can't stand the guy. He exploits women. Well twits anyway who want to be exploited. Would like to see more sex shows off the air. They give our kids a bad message.

Why on earth would you allow your kids to listen to the Howard Stern show?

The only way he could corrupt your children is if you allow them to hear it.

I'll watch porn with my husband sometimes, but certainly not with my children.

There is nothing wrong with adult entertainment.

Actually Libra Sparkle, I think Mirandee's children are actually old enough to watch Stern, porn or whatever else they might want to watch...

I don't mean to speak for her, but I think when she said "our kids" she was referring to kids in general, and it is unfortunate that some kids DO have access to these shows....

(I guess both Mirandee and I are both just fuddy duddy old grammas )

Love,
Rainbow

Ah ha... well.. I have no idea how old either of you are

You both seem pretty young at heart

Howard Stern makes me LMAO... even though I don't always agree with him... he's funny as snot! I get a huge kick out of D-word (meaning penis) and fart jokes.

Yep my kids are all grown up and two married.

We are young at heart. Thank you Libra.

Not intimidated, no. It must be that Mars in Leo and Taurus thing, Rainbow.

I like Bill Maher. Ever catch his show on HBO? He does political humor and has guests. He is hilarious. He is a liberal but he has conservative guests too and unfortunately, Ann Coulter is a friend of his so she is on his show often. Shows me what a phony she is. She rights books with titles like "How to Talk to A Liberal If You Have To" and hangs out with one. Actually from what he says I think there is something going on there.

I Love Bill Maher! I have Tivo, so I make sure never to miss his show.

I can't stand that Ann Coulter biznatch! The way she speaks get's on my last nerve. She's so nasty and snide. You can just tell she's a rotten person.

AND... OMG... did you see her the last time she was on?! For Christ's sake, do you're friggin' roots before you go on television, would ya?!

*Sorry... just a little Libran vanity for ya.

If you aren't getting enough sleep, SL, than perhaps you should be in bed instead of ranting about trite matters here?

you have been snide all over the boards, as of late.

I LOVE Stern! I think most of the people he exploits ALLOW themselves to be exploited by him. I find him extremely hilarious. He tells it like it is. And I think he has a good heart that he hides well. I can sense it when he talks about his daughters and ex-wife. And you can tell he really loves his sidekick Robin. Dunno...that's just the feeling I get on him! LOVE that Cappy humor. (I mostly listen to the radio show though. I think it's better than the TV show)

I'll have to find out when Bill Maher is on here. We just got cable. (I know, I know...I've always preached how 'evil' TV is ) But it's going to be a loooong boring winter without it. I've seen Bill's show a few times awhile back and loved it. He knows what's up.

Not sure, 26, but I do believe Maher's season is about up. He may have another show... but it's likely he's done until next Summer He get's replaced by some stupid sports show (my husband loves) every fall.

Private Ryan was on tonight, I didn't watch it but my son did. (on a Vegas Channel)

Did someone say Bill Maher? Love that man, what a mind and an Aquarian. Now if he could only have Alan Rickmans voice
