Just keep them(the petitions) coming because these guys need to be recognised as artist in Rock-N-Roll, though Progressive Rock is something that I reluctantly would like to consider the kind of music that they play, I'll take that any day for these greats to be honored by!IP: Logged |

All I ask is to sign this petition, because this is a band that really marks symbolicalness of the way of thinking for the X-Generation, henceforth to the fact that your best music was the influance of the music that you listen to today(no matter what artist)! You wouldn't like it done to you in and for your time!(This is apart of me and those who share the same identity and to the ones of future music!) I would hate to see these guys not recognised anymore or at all(forgotten) for they're great works and efforts! IP: Logged |

RadioHead is one of ma faves~ have you heard of this band, ozone? they are supposed to be very much inspired by Rush. They have song called "Mercury Retrograde"..pretty interesting. I must check them out~ http://www.thereverseengineers.com/ anyway, i like this line from "Freewill"~ "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice" good stuff here is the rest of the song lyrics. Words by neil peart, music by geddy lee and alex lifeson There are those who think that life Has nothing left to chance With a host of holy horrors To direct our aimless dance A planet of playthings We dance on the strings Of powers we cannot perceive The stars aren’t aligned --- Or the gods are malign Blame is better to give than receive You can choose a ready guide In some celestial voice If you choose not to decide You still have made a choice You can choose from phantom fears And kindness that can kill I will choose a path that’s clear I will choose free will There are those who think that they’ve been dealt a losing hand The cards were stacked against them --- They weren’t born in lotus-land All preordained A prisoner in chains A victim of venomous fate Kicked in the face You can’t pray for a place In heaven’s unearthly estate Each of us A cell of awareness Imperfect and incomplete Genetic blends With uncertain ends On a fortune hunt That’s far too fleet... Yeah, I can pretty much hear alot of Rush in this band indeed, I think that the song Max-Q has alot of riffs coming from the songs Xanadu and Cygnus X-1 Book II: Hemispheres, while the rest of the songs have more or less the beat between of the albums of Grace under Pressure, Fly by Night, Power Windows and Hold your Fire!I can tell that instead of going more of the route of Getty Lee's vocal points, the singer sounds more like Ian Anderson, which to me it's not such a bad trait to have and it makes a pretty interesting and fascinating blend! Alot of Neil Pearts lyric writings are mainly the Philosophies of Ayn Rand and "Freewill" focuses prime to her Objectivist philosophy. I like the idea that she is into a more meritocracy way of government and to me it's been more and more of a great idea to start trying for that goal achievement, considering that lately this government is more ruled by Plutocracy and Oligarchy then anything else! But what are ya gonna do?! IP: Logged |

Nope, not yet! quote: ayn rand is one of the great ones.
Oh yeah, Neil Peart is also into the philosophies of Friedrich Nietzsche as well! So you pretty much know why Neil Peart is so much like a "Human Drum Machine"! His timing is almost boundless and a hard act to follow by most! IP: Logged |
