Well nove731, being from Antioch, TN...in the so called Bible Belt, a city with biblical reference as the first destination of the Apostle Paul to spread the Gospel..i.e., Antioch, a city in ancient Syria, you might be in a good position to comment on BlueRoamers' comment. Is BlueRoamers' comment infantile bombast or have you ever known any Christian(s) who advocated hanging gays?

Eh, no. Not personally. The closest to it was a recommendation by an old classmate that gays should be sent to prison.

It was a general comment. In retrospect, I'm not quite sure why I quoted BlueRoamer. Probably just the idea of being hung is not too fun to entertain.

I'm sure you'd like to make a blanket statement that there are no Christians who want gays to die, but surely we both know this is a falsehood. There are many Christians who support gay rights, and there are many who believe quite the opposite.

Essentially, you are a white male republican from the south, you know nothing about what it means to be a minority or to have to struggle, yet you speak as if you know exactly what all of America thinks. You throw out terms like "radical leftist" because its easier for your puny brain to just put anyone who disagrees with you into the same category.

Let me put this in terms you that are easy to understand. You're a petty, small, rage filled man, who loves nothing better to incite anger from anyone who disagrees with you. You constantly use ad hominem tactics to belittle people, instead of actually coming up with logical arguements. Your mind and heart are so wrapped up in politics, and in you having the correct viewpoint, that you've completely lost the spirit if a bipartisan America. You've called me a radical leftist on many occasions, but frankly you don't know anything about my politics.

I'm actually quite economically conservative, not a super environmentalist, and something of an isolationist in foreign affairs. With the exception of social issues, I tend to align more with old school republicans, but you would never notice this. Why? Because your goal is to incite rage and anger in anyone that invalidates your beliefs.

Jwhop, your beliefs are not your ego, they are not you. I hope someday that you realize there's more to life than being right. You've got what you wanted, you made me angry, are you happy? Are you happy that people who were once my friends think I should be shot because I'm gay? Oh but these people don't exist, let me correct myself, it must have been a hallucination, much like your compassion and humility. Downplaying the prejudice that exists against homosexuals is basically the same as being prejudiced against them. Trying to sweep the issue under the carpet only makes it worse.

I suggest you stay on threads where the issues concern things that affect your life. Contrary to your beliefs, you do not own Global Unity. Now go ahead and engage in whatever awful, condescending, illogical statements you want, I'm not going to read them. If you're really so invested in politics, why dont you go out into the real world and do something about it instead of pointlessly bullying liberals all day on an ASTROLOGY message board.

I have never so much as heard, in the press, on the radio, in person, in any literature, from any source, the suggestion by christians, christian organizations or anyone else connected to, in any way, a christian organization that gays should be hanged.

That website was created by Reverend Fred Phelps. He held a protest against gays at Matthew Shepard's funeral, I believe.

He's happy that Sweden lost so many lives in the tsunami on December 26, 2004, because they support gay rights. He's also happy supports the people who set off the bombs in London.

Don't make any bets about my heart TINK. There was a time when there could have been calm and reasoned discussion here...and I'm one who asked..several times for that alternative. However, I've seen some of the most outrageous accusations made here, against the president, the elections, his family, and the essence of his very being.

I never recall anyone accusing the very country, the United States of being so corrupt as to repress citizens of other nations..not before Acoustic, nor assert that Americans were also guilty of repression. There is a deliberative nature to the word repress which implies intent. Repression is not accidental.

Again, if someone can't take the fallout, don't make those kinds of lying hate filled inflammatory statements.

Accusing conservative Christians of wanting to hang gays is another hate filled inflammatory statement. I'm not even religious.

Did you find any such statements on that site? I don't read that stuff but I skimmed through and didn't see anything about hanging anyone.

Hanging specifically? No. But I've just skimmed the site myself. It makes me sick to read that hatred. I can't imagine why anyone would devote so much time to hating someone when his religion preaches love.

On a sidepoint, though, not to start any conflict, but I find it amusing how people like Fred Phelps would gladly quote Leviticus to make a case against homosexuality, but if he were to wear blended clothing and someone told him he was commiting an abomination (I believe that's one of the passages of Leviticus, anyway), he'd call them blasphemous, or some other such crap. You can't pick and chose, was my point, though. If you're going to site Leviticus as a source, then fine, but you have to embrace all of it, not just one passage.

They support terrorism to pro-gay cultures, such as Spain, Cananda, and Sweden, though. For some reason he also praises the terrorists for hitting London, but I'm not exactly sure why, just yet. I'll look. It seems along the same lines to me, but then again it's hard for me to gain an objective view on the topic, so I can understand how someone else would take it in a different light.

Hrm. There is an article in his directory after you click the yellow sign, that's entitled "All Nations Must Immediately Outlaw Sodomy (Homosexuality) & impose the death penalty!" but I'm not sure if they're correlated, or just two issues he supports, because everytime I click the link, my browser freezes up, and stops responding.
