9/11: Debunking The Myths

A great article from Popular Mechanics Magazine

"PM examines the evidence and consults the experts to refute the most persistent conspiracy theories of September 11."

Three and a half years later, not everyone is convinced we know the truth. Go to Google.com, type in the search phrase "World Trade Center conspiracy" and you'll get links to an estimated 628,000 Web sites. More than 3000 books on 9/11 have been published; many of them reject the official consensus that hijackers associated with Osama bin Laden and Al Qaeda flew passenger planes into U.S. landmarks.

Healthy skepticism, it seems, has curdled into paranoia. Wild conspiracy tales are peddled daily on the Internet, talk radio and in other media. Blurry photos, quotes taken out of context and sketchy eyewitness accounts have inspired a slew of elaborate theories: The Pentagon was struck by a missile; the World Trade Center was razed by demolition-style bombs; Flight 93 was shot down by a mysterious white jet. As outlandish as these claims may sound, they are increasingly accepted abroad and among extremists here in the United States. read more

(this is from March 2005...so not exactly new, but still an interesting read)

Well Isis, those are the facts but facts are not acceptable to those reaching for a handle with which to bash Bush over the head.

They will not accept the logical, reasonable and scientific explanation but will cast around for and believe or say they believe the most illogical, unreasonable and irrational among us who have none of the scientific facts on their side.

Who's Bush-bashing?
He does quite a fine job all by his lonesome.
Obviously your own "... logical, reasonable and scientific explainations..." come from different sources than mine... that's all. I am just offering a perspective but, if you have found your 'truths' and are happy with the provider, that's Great!
I'm good with my own 'truth' discovery aides too. The laws of Nature have yet to be 'debunked' for me... I have not, thus far, seen Nature swayed by monetary means, or our human political agenda's.
However, it is all just in a perspective... not an I.Q, in my opinion... hey, noone died and left me as the 'all knowing'... and I'm ok with that understanding.
That said, maybe my own head is still seen to need a round of bashing...? I am going to retain more optimism in believing that agreeing to disagree is possible, while refraining from taking a subjective/personal stance.
My apologies, for the sarcastic tone of my first reply. It was very reactive, which I realize, only usually makes for more unproductive bickering. Sincerely, I do apologize, for that err.
It is readily apparent that everyone is quite capable of forming their own opinions and, grasping their own 'truths'...
My own, personal rule-of-thumb, ( 3 sides to a story ), is just that... Personal. Even if it may actually only lead to being paranoid...for thinking.
Again, I only offer a perspective... I'm not trying to 'win' anything.
