OMG.. and it was DD that cried RACISM and made a big stink about several of us here? Hey.. look in the mirror. Making fun of Asians for being Asian is racist you twit. You are so ignorant you are bragging about what a wonderful comedian this a-hole is and in reality he comes off as a racist, especially regarding Asians. Here is one fans comments "Very funny. It's about time somebody started making fun of them. What about the Japs? Now there are some flunny fluckers. " Real nice DayDreamer. For someone that was mortified by other's here being outraged towards Islamic terrorists you sure have no problem with this crap.

Hi Malkouf,I understand what you're saying. This type of humor doesnt appeal to everyone. Most first and second generationers here in Canada I know find it funny because we can relate most of what the comedian makes jokes about. I have to admit some of his stuff can be too much. He is an "equal opportunity offender" though. BTW I love Asian accents and his attempts at them aint bad at all. pidaua, the post that guy made seems racist. And I dont take anything back that I "cried" racism over. IP: Logged |

I find it ironic how someone who made a major stink about saying "extremist muslims are bad/dangerous" as racist, thinks it's ok to make fun of Asians....I mean, either it's ok to make fun of everyone,or it's NOT ok to make fun of anyone. So then is it ok if I start posting Muslim jokes? You're not going to call people racists for making fun of Muslims, right? Since it's ok to make fun of Asians? IP: Logged |

...and incidentally, it might be funny if anyone but the 'girl who cries wolf' posted it. But considering the OP, it's just hypocrisy. So apparently, racism is anything that offends you? But if it doesn't, then it's not racist. Gotta love how that works. IP: Logged |

I never made a stink about someone saying extremist Muslims or from any other religion are bad or dangerous. I made a major stink about racism. I made a major stink about people calling my beliefs and religion a death cult that wishes death upon others I made a major stink about generalizing people who do not agree with the "war on terror" as terrorists and terrorist supporters I made a major stink about name calling people who disagree with you I made a major stink about calling people who are against the foreign policy as American haters and as evil. I made a major stink about ignorance. IP: Logged |

You made a major stink about racism based on people's opinions of Islamic Terrorists and terrorist supporters. You turned this website into a circus along with your ill-informed buddy L-moon and your sister. The leftest morons here that have been trying to shut up the Conservative posters (all 5 of us) used those threads to point fingers and promote their own agenda. You DayDreamer are a racist and you are promoting racism. Read your words. You made justifications for the racist remarks based on how long a person has been in a specific country (2-3 generations). Isis is 100% right- you cried wolf and you are guilty of what you accused others of. Your ethics need some fine tuning because if we posted a cartoon of a Muslim bumping into a wall because their turbin fell off and covered their eyes, you would sh1t twice and file a freaking lawsuit. Yet you use the Asian race to get your rocks off. HYPOCRIT! IP: Logged |

DD, your first statement is completely untrue. So again, racism is anything that offends you and your beliefs. What if I were to tell you that I were Asian and that really offended me and my beliefs; lumping Asians into the same category, ridiculing them, laughing at their expense, you would what? Tell me to get over it? So, I ask you again, if I post Muslim jokes, are you going to cry racism and freak out, or just "get over it"? And no, I'm not Asian, just making a point. IP: Logged |

Hey if you want to play the name game, I am totally able...not exactly willing though.I could express how I feel and call you a RACIST pidaua, for calling me insensitve and disrespectful when I tried to bring up the HUMAN lives lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. Perhaps you are too RACIST to see they are HUMAN BEINGS. Perhaps you are too RACIST to see you cannot generalize people as terrorists or terrorist supporters if they live over there and are against your government and foreign policy, invasion and false wars. You are stupid DayDreamer. You don't even know what a racist is and you are a freaking teacher? No wonder the educational system is in the toliet here and in Canada. People like you cannot even differentiate between racism and stating an opinion based on evidence. You are a terrorist sympathizer and you have always come out with some excuse for the bomb strapping a-holes that kill children. Calling you pathetic, an idiot, a twit or a terrorist is NOT racist. Calling Islamic terrorists or extremists a-holes is NOT racist. Making fun of Asian accents and using a race as a punch line is RACIST. IP: Logged |

Isis,How right you are!! If it offends her, then it must be bad, but making fun of Asians and African Americans (I am not sure what the term is in Canada) is quite alright because it makes her laugh. Calling a terrorist out for killing children, well hell that is racist now. Her students are getting a quality education. IP: Logged |

I guess he can be a racist...just because he's brown doesn't mean he cant be one ... but most immigrants and second generationers (people he uses in his jokes) that I know dont think he is. Here's some info on this comedian. quote: Renowned for his quick wit and piercing mimicry, Russell Peters has mastered the art of traversing between hilarious characters of all races and cultures, creating an immediate connection with his audiences. His riotous performances have established him as an artist with bona fide international acclaim.Peters has been nominated for four of Canada's prestigious Gemini Awards. He has been a featured comic at Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Comedy Festival. His television appearances include CBC-TV's Comics!, Club Class on Channel 5 (UK) and two one-hour Comedy Now! specials on Canada's Comedy Network. He has also hosted his own talk show on BBC-TV (UK) and performed on The David Frost Comedy Festival Special, broadcast on both the BBC and the CBC. In April 2005, Peters was the first South Asian to headline and sell-out the famous Apollo Theatre in New York City. Tens of thousands of fans have turned out to see Peters live across the United States throughout 2004 and 2005. He has been playing to sold out crowds from New York to Los Angeles, and creating a major buzz of excitement on university campuses, comedy clubs and now Hollywood. He is currently in talks to produce his own sitcom with a major US network.
http://www.comedycentral.com/comedians/browse/p/russell_peters.jhtml quote: Russell Peters is already a comedy superstar in much of the world. A recent one-off appearance at London’s Shaw Theatre sold out in 48 hours and when his first shows in Sydney and Melbourne were announced in May 2006, 10,000 tickets were gone in less than two days with zero advertising. In April 2005, Peters was the first South Asian to headline and sell-out the Apollo Theatre in New York City. Common knowledge decrees that a comedian must have a TV sitcom, a hit movie or a high profile comedy album to succeed, but Peters has built a massive underground following by word of mouth, completely bypassing mainstream media outlets. For the past few years he’s been selling out theatres across the US and Canada, all without ever appearing on network television in the United States. His US agents, Creative Artists Agency, calls this phenomenon ‘The Legend Of Russell Peters.’ Russell Peters has made his reputation by speaking to people that no one else is talking to. Much of his comedy speaks to North American immigrant communities of Indian, Chinese, Filipino, Vietnamese, Korean, Jamaican and other Southeast Asian and Caribbean communities that remain invisible to the mainstream media and the broader white population. Peters’ new Warner Bros./Jack Records DVD and CD, Outsourced, was taped before a sold out audience at the Warfield Theater in San Francisco, and gives viewers and listeners an excellent overview of Peters’ comedic genius. He paces the stage interacting with the audience, tossing off one-liners and engaging in impromptu dialogue with his fans. As much a humorist as a comedian, Peters doesn’t really tell jokes. Rather, he uses his wry observations on the subjects of race and class to illuminate our human shortcomings with the sizzling accuracy of a well-aimed laser. “I don’t put people down,” Peters points out. “I want to elevate them, but in a funny way.” His quick wit and ability to mimic language and accents allows Peters to create characters of all races and cultures and forge an immediate bond with his audiences, regardless of their racial and cultural background. Peters has been doing stand up for 17 years and already has an impressive resume. He had a recurring role in the Canadian sitcom Lord Have Mercy and hosted his own BBC chat show Network East Late, where he interviewed Ismail Merchant, of Merchant Ivory productions, UK hit makers Faithless, Gurinder Chadha, director of Bend It Like Beckham and many other South Asian and mainstream artists and personalities. His movie credits include the comedy Quarter Life Crises, Eddie Griffin’s My Baby’s Daddy, martial arts flick Tiger Claws III and the forthcoming bank heist thriller The Take with John Leguizamo and Rosie Perez. Peters has been nominated for four Gemini Awards [the Canadian equivalent of the Emmys]. He has been featured at Montreal’s Just For Laughs Comedy Festival, HBO’s Aspen Comedy Festival, the Edinburgh (Scotland) Comedy Festival and many others across the globe. His TV appearances include CBC’s Comics! and two one-hour Comedy Now! specials on The Comedy Network in Canada. His Comedy Now! performance of February 2004 is one of the network’s most popular shows of all time. When fans placed segments of the special on the internet it created a global demand for Peters’ comedy and his popularity exploded. His website, www.russellpeters.com, gets over 3,000 hits a day and alerts his many fans to his upcoming shows via targeted email blasts. He’s performed in China, South Africa, Australia, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Jamaica, St. Maartens, Trinidad, Singapore and the United Arab Emirates and later this year will be the first North American comic to tour India. Peters’ comedy is rooted in the reality of growing up brown in white Canadian society. “My family and I are Anglo-Indian,” Peters explains. “Anglo-Indians are a community of Indians from India who mixed with the British when they occupied India. Both of my parents are Anglo-Indian and their parents were Anglo-Indians and so on.” Peters was a small child and encountered racism for the first time in 1975 when his family moved from Toronto to the suburb of Brampton, Ontario. “In the 70s Brampton wasn’t the heavily Indian community it is today. There was a lot of anger towards non-white people. White folks weren’t very friendly, so I grew up with the black kids. I’m always trying to understand why people hate other people when they know nothing at all about them. My act is based on trying to figure that out and that’s the art.” Despite his success up North, Peters recently relocated to Hollywood, where he’s working on developing a new sitcom project. “Developing a TV pilot is great, but I’m never accepting typecast roles. If they offer me a million dollars to do a shuffling, bumbling Indian guy they can keep the million bucks. I like the money, but I’d do it without the money and I have done it without the money. The real reward is seeing the look of happiness on people’s faces when they hear me talking to their experiences in a way that nobody’s ever done before.” Rob Light, a partner at Creative Artists Agency, the agency that also handles Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise, put it this way: “Russell has a great future in comedy on TV and in movies. He’s getting attention from Hollywood because he’s already done it all on his own. He’s a naturally funny person with a multicultural outlook that allows him to be entertaining to people of all races and backgrounds. Nobody’s ever had an outlook like him before.”
