I've always liked light. Interesting to see the layout of the major cities by their light pollution. Can you find your hometown?

Certain parts of it look a lot like a spider's web don't they?

BR....I love that map....

It really is cool.....

...and Yes, I can see

lights coming f rom my area,

and the Great Lakes area in general.....stands out for me....

Particularly Chicago and Detroit.....

It's pretty awesome!!!

nd yes. I am reminded of spider webs.....when looking at this map

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

One thinks of seeing the intricate and beautiful lacy works

of the spiders

with the early morning sun shining thru the dew on their webs

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~~~

Thank you for sharing that with us....

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

It's a

delightful and welcome change

for those of us posting here....*sigh*

juni....

Why are you "greyed out?"

Didja have a power outage or something?

It's pretty cold here, lady....old man winter is not far off...*sigh

Love,
your neighbor just a wee bit to the south of you....

Look at the tip of Florida.... is that black area the Everglades? I thought Florida would be light up much brighter.

juni.....There's a very bright spot shining on the east coast of Florida (and somewhat south).

that light is no doubt coming from some radiant Leo-type person..... in that area....

Whatcha wanna bet?

Yes I can easily see where I am on this map. That big glob of light right there south of the thumb which is the Detroit Metro area. Detroit and it's adjoining cities and townships.

I can easily see where Flint and Grand Rapids are too.

I just noticed you can also see national parks by the absence of lights.

For example you can see the expansive adirondack in upstate new york...

Same thing applies in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, BR. Those vast dark spaces are national forests. The dark space on the west side of the UP is the Hiawatha National Forest.

Out west most of the vast dark spaces are mountains.

edited to add: It's easy to see on this map at night where the vast majority of the population of the U.S. lives.

I expected the Mackinaw Bridge, connecting Michigans U.P. to the L.P., to show a glimmer. It seems I read the astronauts could see it from space. The single light must be St Ignace...

“Can you find your hometown?”

No I can’t, as it’s more to the east…of the Atlantic

It’s a gorgeous image BR

Hey Petron, if you've placed those pointers correctly that would put you in Dunedin.

Isn't it lights out in Dunedin at 8pm...same time they roll up the sidewalks?
