So I am so disgusted with the news lately. Everything is so topsy-turvy. What used to be right is now wrong and vice-versa. I am only twenty-five and I remember a time when it was a good thing to wish someone Merry Christmas. Peace on earth and good will towards men. Etc... Now the same kind of people who are "offended" by a Christmas tree, or "offended" by the words "Merry Christmas" are the same people who think partial birth abortion is acceptable. Yeah I'm sorry, but what the hell is going on in this country? Yeah let's kill innocent babies and let's kill anyone who isn't healthy like the elderly. Life isn't important to these liberal idiots. Everyone is going crazy it seems. It seems like the devil himself is instilling his values in society. God forbid anyone prays in public or obeys the ten commandments. That is just so not cool. Everyone seems to be more brazen in being anti-God. I am totally disgusted with what society is becoming.

It is probably happening world wide

We have become consumed by the counsumer society...we run around placing important on the wrong things

We are losing sight of spiritual values

Maybe we can all pray for a different world

In Ireland we have what we call the Celtic Tiger....a boom in the economy which in some ways is positive, but we now lose sight of sean nois, the old ways..

House prices have increased to such a degree, a small cottage which would have cost 20,000 just a few years ago now costs 200,000. It is immoral, this is crippling people.

Where I live we still have..the community spirit...people gather, whether it be to sing and play music, to dance or even to attend church....

But more people are striving for a more materialistic lifestyle....new cars, big houses etc. I always think it looks strange to see a flash brand new vehicle driving along a narrow country lane...seems misplaced somehow?

I choose to opt out of this.....material possession mean nothing at the end of the day....

We are becoming far removed from what matters, I hope to God man realises that there is only one thing that truly matters in life.. LOVE

It's so sad sue g. That's awesome that where you live people still gather together and sing etc... that's all i really want. Where I live in America, it's not like that at all. I don't even know my neighbors. All anyone cares about is materialistic crap. You are definitely right... at the end of the day all that matters is people. Not what kind of car you drive. It is really sad. I wonder why this is happening. I don't like it at all. By the way, I have always wanted to visit Ireland just for that reason. It seems so "community" like. My great grandparents came from Ireland and I would love to visit the emerald isle one day!

I think it is a wonderful place to live....Ireland......although it is gradually changing, it has retained a lot of its charm.

The people are very humbe and speak with their hearts......

I live near to a village which has changed little over the years, its a very small place and yet has over 10 pubs!!!

Haha!!!

Well.....

I drank and smoked most of my life, then became a mother and had a sleepless child....so had to be clear of head and stuff...

But what it has lead me to is a state of sober craic haha...I am more confident socially now than I ever was, even with just tonic water inside of me..and...

I dont get hangovers....

The music makes me intoxicated...dont need the gin bottle anymore
