But not just any American. This American is a liberal...not a leftist American.

Proof of his liberal credentials abound in his senatorial voting record.

Proof also of the radical fringe leftist democrat party, is their effort to oust Lieberman from the party.

Proof also that the democrat party is in no way liberal and in no way democratic. Only one voice can be heard in democrat circles..the voices of far left fringe radicals.

Lieberman Might Back Republican in '08

Connecticut Sen. Joe Lieberman, the Democratic vice presidential nominee in 2000 who won re-election as an independent last year, says he is open to supporting any party's White House nominee in 2008.

"I'm going to do what most independents and a lot of Democrats and Republicans in America do, which is to take a look at all the candidates and then in the end, regardless of party, decide who I think will be best for the future of our country," Lieberman said Sunday.

"So I'm open to supporting a Democrat, Republican or even an Independent, if there's a strong one. Stay tuned," said the three-term lawmaker who caucuses with Senate Democrats.

Lieberman is an ally of GOP Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record) of Arizona, a 2008 hopeful, and supports President Bush's new Iraq strategy. Lieberman won re-election as an independent last fall when Democrats backed an anti-war candidate who won the party primary.

Speaking of which politician he may support in 2008, Lieberman said, "Obviously, the positions that some candidates have taken in Iraq troubles me. Obviously, I will be looking at what positions they take in the larger war against Islamist terrorism."
He added, "I am genuinely an independent. I agree more often than not with Democrats on domestic policy. I agree more often than not with Republicans on foreign and defense policy."

The senator said he wanted to select someone "I believe is best for the future of our country. ... Party is important, but more important is the national interest. And that's the basis that I will decide whom to support for president."

Lieberman spoke on "Fox News Sunday."

I think this is one time when I agree with you Jwhop.

Lieberman slides all over the place on the issues, he seems to have no foundation or pillar of morals. He slides around like a chameleon, trying to play as many sides as possible to win the voter's favor.

He's a doppleganger and he's no good.

Well BlueRoamer, you're not agreeing with me. Joe Lieberman is a fine man and a fine American liberal who votes liberal on about 90% of issues which come before the Senate.

Now Blue...if you were agreeing with me, I'd be very concerned about my position...or...your limited ability to understand the issue

Sorry I normally don't read the drivel that you post.

I'm glad we disagree, I wouldn't want to be aligned, or should I say, maligned, with any of your amoral beliefs or opinions.

You do well not to read what I post BlueRoamer. It's way over your head and could only lead to a headache when burned out neurons try to fire.

How so DL?

Lieberman is about the only democrat in sight who doesn't want to tuck his tail between his legs and cut and run out of Iraq.

The rest of the tribe are ball-less, testosterone challenged cowards.

Ummm, I think BR just explained the reason earlier but I'll tell again anyways. I think so because Lieberman always flip flops from one side to the other on certain things. Very inconsistant and fickle on alot of issues (like this war for instance). So yes, he's still the one who need to grow a penis. Not unlike the U.S. gov't, no?

I have to agree with that BUD. Lieberman is a good guy who stands out in a sea of horses a$ses.

I seldom agree with his positions but Lieberman is an honest liberal who is a straight talking politician..a rarity indeed...and far from the flip-flopping Kerry and the rest of the flip-floppers who were FOR military action against Saddam....before they were AGAINST it.
