i've read in articles, and just from the words of experience i get from others, the leaders/rulers of our nations, in general, don't care about global warming, or darfur, or the poor and suffering, so lets take a good look: what do they care about? and why are they in the positions they are in?(discussion) ------------------ Virgo Rising 8'57, Sagittarius Sun/4thH 3'26, Pisces Moon/6thH 8'22 "Our passions are not too strong, they are too weak. I think the primary care of the leaders of all nations should be the well being of the people IN their nation and only then outside issues such as global warming and genocide in other countries. Don't get me wrong i think countries should pitch in and stop the attrocities but you cannot expect a nation dealing with some horrible issue to put its attention elsewhere.IP: Logged |

Exactly. Nations like China have just gotten around getting into full scale developement. To tell them to cut back on prodcution and start following regulations is just simply unfair. Many developed nations have had their chance to develope. Let others have the same opportunity. IP: Logged |

The Kyoto Treaty is a dead issue. The nations who signed on aren't even maintaining the level of CO2 emissions which existed in their nations at the time of their signing...let alone reducing their emissions. If this, as junk scientists allege...is a world problem then China, India, Indonesia and every other nation would surely agree to the same verifiable reductions in CO2 emissions. Far from that, China has more than 2000 coal fired electrical plants planned to come online in the next 15-20 years. IP: Logged |

True Xodian, but what about nuclear? Thats a form of development that if most other nations could develop may ruin the enviornment even more, like, Iran?

Presidents are nothing more than figureheads for the corporate and banking elite. Left or right, they are both wings on the same bird.In other words, politicians are all scum. Period. IP: Logged |
