this thread is sort of a second part of the 'imus fired' thread. Now the news is talking about cleaning up TV and hip hop, but hasn't it been that way for a reason? What's Ok to say now?

I'm all for dangerous, outspoken rebels but what passes for rebellion these days is generally nothing more than a bad case of potty mouth. TV and hip hop both being prime examples.

Maybe if we weren't so damn up in arms about those pesky censors covering up Janet Jackson's middle-aged boob or putting a stopper in Howard Stern's fat trap we might have noticed the other fruits of their tireless labor. Namely, a distinct lack of truly original ideas and brave souls with the courage to speak up about them.
