Obama girl has a ... crush on Obama!

The art of politics is also the art of finding new innovative ways to reach out to voters; Obama girl might have opened a new era in political communication singing she has a crush on Obama.

Instant celebrity Obamagirl is actress Amber Lee Ettinger while the song was performed by Leah Kauffman, a 21-year-old undergraduate at Temple University in Philadelphia.

An Obama campaign official said its team had nothing to do with the video, but otherwise declined to comment, ABC News reports.

Some 30 million Americans would love to say they have a crush on Obama as well, provided he publicly states he supports legalization and regulation of online gambling and online poker.

In September of 2006 the U.S. congress approved the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Well, not really approved, in reality the law didn't have much support so Senator Jon Kyl and associates managed to have it approved by smuggling it into the Safe Port Act.

These guys are the ones that want to dictate how adult Americans spend their hard earned money and they walked the extra mile to achieve their goal.

I guess this is something Obama may want to take into consideration: 30 million Americans are waiting to have a crush on the candidate that will support their right to gamble online. Could Obama be the one?

I almost forgot... click here to watch Obama Girl sing "I have a crush on Obama".

YouTube Video Emphasizes Obama Sex Appeal

WASHINGTON — Barack Obama really is a rock star now. A racy new music video making the rounds on YouTube puts 2008 Democratic presidential hopeful Obama back in the spotlight, not only as the man to solve the nation's woes, but also as an object of young lust.

The video accompanies the song, "I Got a Crush on Obama," written by 21-year-old Leah Kauffman, a student at Temple University, and 32-year-old New York City ad executive Ben Relles, who knows Kauffman from hometown Philadelphia.

The song is reminiscent of urban radio ballads, with a sultry-voiced Kauffman singing about how Obama's universal health care policy has redirected her attention away from her longing for 2004 Democratic contender John Kerry.

"So I put down my Kerry sign, knew I had to make you mine. Smart, black and sexy you're so fine, 'cause I got a crush on Obama," says one verse.

The video itself features Amber Lee Ettinger, a 24-year-old buxom brunette actress and model, lip synching the tune in a variety of outfits at various New York City venues. In several fantasy scenes, Ettinger stands besides cardboard cutouts of the Illinois senator, singing along as she imagines standing on stage with him at the Democratic convention or outside the Capitol. In another scene, Ettinger manages to fit onto one t-shirt the trio's Web address, Obamagirl.com.

Relles said he and Kauffman found the directors for the video on Craigslist.

"They were outstanding," he said, adding that they originally posted the video on viral video site Revver.com.

"They made it their video of the day but it didn't take off until we put it on YouTube," he told FOXNews.com

Obama campaign insiders told FOX News they had nothing to do with the video, which comes just as Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign is fielding entries for a song contest.

The campaign insiders said the campaign is fine with the buzz accompanying the new video, as it just adds strength to a campaign that is already going strong.

Relles told FOXNews.com that the group can't explain why the Obama campaign has inspired such creative production from the grassroots, but they haven't talked with the campaign about it.

Inspiration originally came from another risqué satire, the My Box in a Box video, for which Kauffman reportedly won a recording contract with Rock Ridge Music.

"We wanted to do another spoof song," she said.

will this help or hurt Obama's campaign? whats your opinion?

heres an excerpt from the ABC article:

quote:
As much as the news may break the hearts of thousands of Democratic men, Obamagirl, in reality, is not the pulchritudinous callipygian who riffs on policy with Akon-esque beats, singing "you're into border security/let's break this border between you and me/universal health care reform/it makes me warm."

Rather, she is a fictitious creation.

Hmm?...
.... . Interesting story...
Nice voice... catchy tune, I think neptune5
that in this day and age good music speaks louder than facts.
People believe what they hear more than taking the time to actually research facts.
I think that this video will actually help the campaign.

For some reason the link you had posted is not showing up so for those
interested in veiwing the video itself here is another link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tGuQkMLA2c

Now you have me thinking...
[this is a good thing]
I shall go forth and research facts!
I will not be swayed or hypnotized by the music.

Sendin' love your way,
your friend in spirit

As either HL Mencken and/or PT Barnum said, no one ever went broke by underestimating the intelligence of the American people. I think that applies to the question whether this will help or hurt Obama.

I find it strange how looks, sexiness, etc, are so important to people. Like I read 2 history books on Queen Isabella of Spain (with Christopher Columbus). One hated her and described her as fugly (in his own way), while the other one really liked her and described her as beautiful.

I see it all the time in modern times, too. In debates, they don't attack the argument so much as the looks of the person. I've seen the most ugly things said about Hillary, Moore, and Ann Coulter. Note, I don't like any of these 3 people, but I find the people that think it's cool to attack their looks and worse (far, far worse, like those who think it's funny to describe Coulter as being sexually abused by daddy--something I've seen happened in "debates" against other women disliked) to be far more distasteful. Just how did that become "cool" anyway? To me, it makes the bulk of the detractors look bad, not the ones they're insulting.

Anyway, I'm guessing whatever is behind this ia being used in Obama's campaign strategy.

And as a personal note, I'm annoyed that Obama is said to want to legalize gambling, but no mention of his opposition to gay marriage (for Christian reasons). Some other things, too, but my memory is kinda vague on that.

I've seen the Obama vid. Words fail me. That's another example of how The Onion, South Park, and MAD Magazine just can't keep up with reality. I'll give the vid brownie points for some cleverness and knowing what will stick in the minds of men & women both, but that's it. Ok, and it was less pathetic for Obama than it was when Bill Clinton and Yeltsin tried being cool on MTV (or whatever Yeltsin appeared on).

I then veered off to see the Celine Dion vid for Hillary Clinton. That one had a lot more dignity, thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
