Mannu,
Stereotyping ones race, religion et al is crass and socially unacceptable.

If you notice, it doesn`t even happen here in volatile G.U.

And some people do look at race and gender when they vote. Its childish if you deny that.

Although individual minds can influence the outcome of the whole. But after whatever the whole determines after considering individuals, its wise to go with that. Then again get away from herd. Endless cycle.

Besides if polygamy is the norm of the future then so be it.

Although I think that far less people are getting married these days in the west in general.

BTW, I am single, and I find the whole idea of monogamy ridiculous.

Society changes every moment based on people. For better or worse, who am I to decide

Thank you

I am just being myself really.
And the world won't let me be

Look what happened to the actor Heath Ledger. The world won't let him sleep.

I reflect his sentiments.
If it happens to him, it could happen to any body.

I won't take extreme steps as he did though

I'm guessing juni was speaking with tongue in cheek. Probably a dangerous thing to do here in GU.

I'm not worrying about Romney. I might be wrong but I believe the Mormon church banned polygamy quite some time ago.

You're right TINK. It was banned from the Mormon church many years ago. Only the so called "Mormon sects" that are not sanctioned by the Mormon church allow polygamy.

Mannu,

That would be like someone saying if Obama became President he would put all women in Burka's.

I don't care if you are Brown or not- I am as well. I don't believe us "Brown" people are any more mistreated than other races in this country.

EVERY race has been enslaved and EVERY race has had slaves. Look back in history and see for yourself.

Yes, couldn't agree more.

Every nation has been invaded and ruled. Exception is switzerland I think. It is the only country with no army.

And I was just joking about Mitt.
I find him funny at times.
He is quoted to have said "Who let the dogs out ...hoo hoo hoo " - LOL

A President cannot take any actions directly - he must present to congress a bill before it becomes law.

This Bush managed to unite democrats since 2000 in amazing ways I think. But he did a poor job to unite his own republican teams. They are still divided in washington dc.

I think if Obama comes to power, he will unite both the democrats and republicans. He is already talking of a change. Perhaps simply rhetoric. Will have to see.

These long runnin campaings makes the candidates so tired that they perhaps don't do anything when they finally get the office LOL

Switzerland has a military. Some might call into question its usefullness, but it does exist.

As for invasions, or the lack thereof ... c'mon, you've heard of William Tell, haven't you?

Mannu,

Actually he was brought up Muslim for the first seven years. Even though he was brought up that way he is non practicing so is his step father.

As for the Swiss not having an Army you are wrong. Check out these websites.
http://europeforvisitors.com/switzaustria/articles/swiss_army.htm http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Military_of_Switzerland

Pidaua mentioned something about the Burka's because you mentioned something about Romney possibly initiating polygamy.

Bear the Leo

From your article >>>>McPhee quoted a Swiss officer as saying: "Switzerland doesn't have an army, Switzerland is an army."

So I am not totally wrong.

I also liked their idea of paying military tax. I hope something like that happens in America until the world becomes a safer place to live in.

Tink - no I haven't heard of William Tell
will have to google him up

Mannu... you are playing with semantics.

Infact, if you read those sites, you would noticed that although the Swiss do not have a complete Army by our standard, they actually have all the latest equipment and battlegear. More than that, they have more people involved in the Militia (650,000 to be exact) and are therefore the biggest so called Army in the Western world.

Hee hee.. Some people play neutral but in actuality they are ready to defend their country and borders in a more fierce way than those always at war.

IMO, the Swiss are only neutral when it comes to money. Look at the recent laws they have passed. They are isolationists and not too friendly to outsides unless it comes to those outsiders investing their money. LOL...

Juni.. I do think your Irony was lost on me..

Yes Pidaua but the Swiss' Milita is not ment for global combat senerios but rather homeland defense as stated by Article 58.1 of the Swiss constitution. And the milita's size has been greatly reduced after the 2004 reform. Now its about 220,000 personalle; Not 650,000.

I believe the Swiss consider their military to be a militia, as they require all men within a certain age to serve. I think that might explain your quote, mannu. I haven't read the articles, so please do correct me if I'm mistaken. I've never been to Switzerland or met a Swiss citizen, but historically they are extremely territorial. Nevermind the pacifist reputation. I think your quote also illustrates that point.

220,00. It must be nice to feel so comfortable. Kinda like Canada, huh? Not to worry folks, we'll take care of you.

And for goodness sake, don't forget the Swiss Guard. Vicious commandos!

Nope we are just good at building international relations that's all .

Apart from that most Canadian Troops have extensive experience in peace-keeping missions which BTW requires a whole lot more traning in Urban-Combat senerios and its even harder when you have to follow the international rules of engagement. The U.S. army just doesn't have that experience unfortunately.
