I'm interesting in hearing people's views on the pros and cons of a possible One World Government. "Terrorism is the war of the poor, and war is the terrorism of the rich." ~ Peter Ustinov

They say its an outcome of the US leftist policies, but when you look closer the US rightists are making that dream realistic IP: Logged |

I'll take that one step further, mannu, and propose that it is yet more proof that both the Left and the Right are, in fact, being used for the same ends. IP: Logged |

I agree TINK. That's a really good point. There is no small government candidate in this current election.
A vote for democrat or republican is a vote for a stronger federal government, is a vote for big brother.
And why do I feel overwhelmingly powerless to do anything about it? IP: Logged |

Cons of a world government: too much possibility for corruption and not enough competition if it were to be centralized. If its not centralized then perhaps it would not be so bad. Though its hard to imagine really. It might take away from the differences of human culture and beliefs and where is the fun in thatIP: Logged |

I think people can and would maintain their cultures and heritage. In some cultures the NOTION itself that heritage is important is so strongly reinforced that I think traditions would remain. The fear of corruption, however, makes it a bit scarier. The power of this central govt would have to be severly limited, much as I wish the US govts power was more limited relative to the individual states. IP: Logged |

>>>I'll take that one step further, mannu, and propose that it is yet more proof that both the Left and the Right are, in fact, being used for the same ends.Yeah, some leaders in both parties know that. But when election time comes they create these differences to make people fearful and vote out of that fear. Very few voters can understand this We are interdependent nations right now. And the interdependence is growing. I think we are still a long way from OWG. IP: Logged |

Proves that our cosmos is a junkyard. Its orderly but deep within its all chaotic. And we spend too much time fixing the cosmic junk. IP: Logged |
