Pundits estimate a write down of US assets totalling $945 billion. Compare this with $750 billion during the Japanese economic crisis of the 1990's

Just as people awoke on september 11 to shock. Is it possible that a day cometh when Americans will find their pensions wiped out because the government would take that money to bail itself out from the international crisis?

Note that in Japan the government didn't bail out the banks. The banks took the loss.
In case of America the government bailed out the bank by using public money.
Is there a Possibility that you go to take out money from your bank and nothings there because they put your account on hold? Will people go back to stuffing their mattresses with cash?

Thats fear mongering Mannu. America is balancing itself out and many will feel the pain but no, we are not self-destructing. Lots of people are negative on USA because of Iraq , and i guess thats natural. And remember what you wish for others you wish for yourself. Don't wish evil for this country or you will bring that evil upon yourself.

Amazing how many dumbas$es there are who lack a fundamental understanding of US laws and the US Constitution.

Of course, these people either lack an understanding of their own countries or are willing to overlook any problems there in pursuit of whining about America.

Well, it sounds to me more like a malignant little troll hunched over a keyboard hurling insults at the United States and US citizens by making lying accusations or putting the lies and accusations in the form of questions.

"Is it possible that a day cometh when Americans will find their pensions wiped out because the government would take that money to bail itself out from the international crisis?"

When the malignant little troll is called on his bullshiiit he is unable to engage and makes an inane response or makes another insulting statement.

"thirteen,
You probably lack reading skills in english. I didn't wish. I asked questions.
Probably church going idiots like you don't think at all before they comment. But preach they must. Jeez."

Notice, in this response, there's the pretense of being put upon by having to listen to "preaching" and that the person who called him on his crap is a churchgoing idiot.

thirteen - No one really seems to care in this country. Every one has lost its soul.

The sun sets on the west and by that I don't mean the geographical west.

It sets in every people irrespective of geographic locations.

And some one here is a professional right wing political activist. Instead of doing facts checking they are resorting to name calling. I doubt that they care about truth.

They are not ordinary people like you and me.

Beware the innocent sheeps of such a professional troll.

Mannu, mice don't abuse lions.

BTW, thanks for elevating me to the level of "professional activist".

One of the differences between a mere activist and a professional activist Mannu is that when called on to do so, professional activists can respond on point.

On the other hand Mannu, mere activists...in your case, an activist who uses lying allegations against your target..the United States can never respond on point when called on his bullshiiit but must resort to changing the subject or making an asinine off point comment or insult. Like the one I pointed out.

based on what i have read in the Economic times of India, columns by Wall street guys, it seems there were many close calls last year. lots of different types of bonds and bills, some of them people are not even aware of but the Feds dealt with theses crisises, and made sure the situation didnt deteriorate. it all depends on the foreclosures and finance markets, and how ell the Feds and the govt can handle the hiccups.so far they have....

Mannu, it does feel like people don't care anymore but the media only portrays the bad. How do we know whether or not there aren't wonderful things going on behind the scenes that will soon show us not to give up. My faith is being tested so deeply right now. Everytime i get ready to give up i see some little headline somewhere that boosts my hopes. Its a sign that this is not the time to give up so I don't. Numerology says that this year is the number of new beginnings so i have decided to decide if i am going to give up after the year is over. I hope you won't give up either becasue the world needs all of us stay positive right now.

Don't get me wrong also.
I am celebrating life as well.

My motto is to live all aspects of life without getting too much attached to them.

And I believe Man is needed by this world no matter how crazy he is as much as the World needs Man.

If some war mongerer tries to attack weaklings I will make sure I speak up and raise consciousness of the world and draw their attention to their own financial problems.

Americans has lost their sense of justice.
They have grown so big and incapable of controlling themselves.

I am glad that the world is not only made of countries like America that believes money is their God. There are other nations also like India that keeps spirituality alive. In their poverty they can teach a lesson or two to the wealthy nations. I have lived on either side of the globe and will speak up even when others wants to embarrass me of my freedom. I hate (not in that sense) people who live in their island of self destruction.

Maybe there is another perspective here. My husband says : there is so much money in the financial markets today, compared to 20 years ago, people do not know what to do with it. And.. whereever they perceive an opportunity of un-stoppable growth they put it there, creating these bubbles. Example: Oil, housing, internet stocks etc... And one by one the bubbles are bursting and right now it is the housing bubble. I can't wait for the oil bubble to burst because im paying too much for gas. I guess greed is driving the bubbles and when they have all bursted i hope people do get humbled again. I think it is going to happen. It is kind of crazy and wild but i sense it is for a higher purpose.

You do have an overinflated opinion of your influence don't you Mannu!

"Americans has lost their sense of justice.
They have grown so big and incapable of controlling themselves."

Still beating your I hate America drum I see. How odd since you can't see any problems in India, can't see any problems in China, can't see any problems in Russia. It's only America which has terrible problems.

If you were a dinner guest..or a house guest Mannu, and complained about the house, complained about the furniture, complained about the table ware, the table and the food; I'd pick you up by the scruff of your neck and throw your butt into the street.

thirteen, Yes there is oppty in every crisis. I am more against arrogance of America. They have violated all decency rules in their war. They broke Geneva convention. Cheney , Bush and all those mafia gang should be dumped in a truck and send to Mexico. No wait why should we wish bad for our neighbors

And if you are investing then trade Forex betting for weak dollar. I see many Americans doing that. Although I think its unethical , but as I mentioned America has lost its soul. Only money seems to count to these people. Even GB is going thru real estate collapse and their currency is sliding. Euro is getting stronger and many new immigrants(students, workers, etc) are now looking at Europe , Australia and Canada as alternative destinatios instead of America. China has already unpegged its currencies against dollar in 2005. And many nations did that this year. Watch for India , its rupee is becoming stronger and it will follow China's path but not so quick. Perhaps America didn't lose its soul. NWO is inevitable. And our fears are temporary

Jwhop - I don't answer hypotheticals nor cyclic questions. BTW there is a kind democrat party in your neighborhood house whose door is open 24 / 7 waiting for thrown outs from your stinking , arrogant house. Although I will refuse their invitation also

Jwhop,

I can only report from books, journals and media on happenings in Russia and China. And same goes for any one not physically present in a particular geographic location.

And since I breathe and live here, I will comment on what I see in America. If you don't like it , up yours.

Do you have any shame compromising the sovereignity of Iraq? Going in to their country as uninvited guest. Bloody, Gun totting savages , you and your party you belong to.

Christ, the world is becoming civil except these barbarian clans.

What a pitiful little know nothing.

Mannu, you seem to forget the 16 UN Security Council Resolutions demanding Saddam live up to his obligations under the "cease fire agreement".

The murderous bast@rd Saddam is dead, his insane sons and heirs to his murderous tyrannical regime are dead and the people of Iraq have voted for representative government, three times so far.

What is it you don't understand about Saddam's murderous tyranny Mannu? And what is it you don't understand about the right of people to be free of murderous tyranny's?

God, how I would love to drop your sorry ass right in the middle of one of the various utterly corrupt and murderous tyrannies which are still in operation in the present world.

I doubt you would survive given your big mouth. They would kill you without an ounce of remorse...unless you learned very quickly to keep your big mouth firmly shut.
