Don't be fooled!

McCain seems like a nice guy but he's a big ol' neocon!

Here are sources for all the questions in The Bush-McCain Challenge:

Q: Who said "I do not support Roe versus Wade. It should be overturned"?

Q: Who has taken a stronger position against assault weapons?
A: Bush. He said he'd sign a ban on assault weapons. But McCain opposes the assault weapons ban (!).

Q: Even after the public and Congress rejected the idea, who is still pushing to privatize our Social Security?
A: McCain. Bush finally gave up. (And when Bush gives up on a bad idea, you know it's REALLY bad.)

A: McCain (perhaps channeling Bush?)

Q: After Saddam Hussein was captured in 2003, who said "Mission Accomplished"?
A: McCain. Bush stood under a “Mission Accomplished” banner. But only McCain actually said it.

Q: Who said the solution to the housing crisis is for people facing foreclosure to get a “second job” and skip their vacations?
A: McCain. He should know, because he and his wife own nine houses. He must have a LOT of jobs.
Source: In a speech on the economy, John McCain said homeowners "are doing what is necessary--working a second job, skipping a vacation, and managing their budgets--to make their payments on time."

Q: As Hurricane Katrina slammed into New Orleans, who took time out for a photo op with a birthday cake in Phoenix, Arizona?

A: Bush. 73 percent of independents in Texas thought he was moderate enough to re-elect as governor in 1998.
Source: "George Bush," MSN Encarta Encyclopedia
Q: Who graduated in the bottom 1% of his college class?
A: McCain. He was 894th (!) out of 899 graduating students.

Q: Who blocked a proposal to ban waterboarding torture in the U.S.?
A: Both Bush and McCain. McCain has built his reputation on opposing torture, but while running for the Republican nomination, he voted against a bill to ban the torture. Then he applauded President Bush for vetoing the torture ban.
Source: "McCain Sides With Bush On Torture Again, Supports Veto Of Anti-Waterboarding Bill," ThinkProgress, February 20, 2008
Q: McCain has made a big deal of acknowledging that global warming is real. On the environment, who scored higher with the League of Conservation Voters—McCain or this carrot?
A: It's a tie! McCain received a big fat zero for his environmental record last year. That's zero, nothing, null, zip, nada. This carrot received no rating, so that one's a push.
Source: "Conservationists score McCain zero," Associated Press, February 21, 2008

"2007 National Environmental Scorecard," League of Conservation Voters
Q: Who has had more physical assaults and confrontations with colleagues in Congress, including a fistfight with an Arizona congressman and a scuffle with octogenarian Strom Thurmond?
A: John McCain. This carrot has never lost its temper and physically assaulted any elected representatives. Yet.
Source: "John McCain, Senator Hothead," Washingtonian, February 1, 1997
Q: Who has the better plan to bring home our troops from Iraq?
A: Not even close. This carrot has no plan to bring home our troops. But McCain has a policy of escalation, belligerence, and using force instead of diplomacy. He talks about staying in Iraq for 100 years. A carrot couldn't do anywhere near the damage to our country that McCain would…plus, the carrot is loaded with beta carotene.

Good, there is no constitutional right to an abortion and no language to that effect to be found in the constitution. If anything at all, it's a state issue and if not a state issue, then it's no issue at all.

Q: Who has taken a stronger position against assault weapons?
A: Bush. He said he'd sign a ban on assault weapons. But McCain opposes the assault weapons ban (!).
Source: "McCain and Thompson at the N.R.A.," New York Times, September 21, 2007
"Irking N.R.A., Bush Supports The Ban on Assault Weapons," New York Times, May 8, 2003
Good. There are already laws on the books banning fully automatic weapons...since 1933-1934. Banning guns that merely look mean is totally idiotic.

Q: Who promised that U.S. troops would be greeted as “liberators” in Iraq?
A: McCain. (Dick Cheney said that, too. In fact, McCain is more of a Bush-Cheney hybrid. Which is a pretty scary thought.)
Source: "But I believe, Katie, that the Iraqi people will greet us as liberators." --John McCain, NBC's "Today Show," March 20, 2003
"I think things have gotten so bad inside Iraq, from the standpoint of the Iraqi people, my belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators." --Dick Cheney, NBC's “Meet the Press,” March 16, 2003
Good. I remember seeing video of Iraqi citizens throwing flowers and handing US military forces flowers as they entered Baghdad. Most Iraqi citizens were happy to see American military forces. Those who weren't were and are either terrorists or part of Saddam's favored Sunni tribe.

Q: Who went on a nationwide speaking tour trying to convince Americans to privatize our Social Security?
A: Both Bush and McCain. The idea proved unpopular with, well, basically everyone in America.
Source: "Bush, McCain plug Social Security," Los Angeles Times, March 23, 2005
Good. Social Security is the most gigantic fraud in American history. A tax plan hidden behind a retirement plan. Running out of money and new suckers to donate so in fact, the system will be broke and result in a direct tax to pay recipients within 25-30 years.

Q: Even after the public and Congress rejected the idea, who is still pushing to privatize our Social Security?
A: McCain. Bush finally gave up. (And when Bush gives up on a bad idea, you know it's REALLY bad.)
Source: "As part of Social Security reform, I believe that private savings accounts are a part of it--along the lines that President Bush proposed." --John McCain
"McCain's Economy Platform: Big Tax Cuts, With Caveats," Wall Street Journal, March 3, 2008
Good because private savings plans and investment in something which will produce a return on invested capital is the only thing which will save retirees from a very bleak future...in the future.

Q: Who said "the issue of economics is something that I’ve never really understood as well as I should"?
A: McCain (perhaps channeling Bush?)
Source: "The issue of economics is something that I've really never understood as well as I should. I understand the basics, the fundamentals, the vision, all that kind of stuff,'' he said. "But I would like to have someone I'm close to that really is a good strong economist."
"McCain wants no yes men in his White House," Chicago Tribune, December 18, 2007
Good. At least McCain is an honest man...unlike the total zeros Hillary and O'Bomber who are clueless as to what produces a powerful economy. They think higher taxes result in higher revenues to the federal government. There are only a few idiots who still hold this view and they're all demoscats.

Q: While running for president, who called himself a "different kind of Republican" and promised bipartisan cooperation?
A: Bush. Ahh, the '90s. We were so young and naive...
Source: "Gov. George W. Bush continued yesterday to present himself as a 'different kind of Republican,' describing an immigrant-friendly approach to the bureaucratic Immigration and Naturalization Service and making a broad appeal to black voters in an address in Manhattan."
"Bush Campaigns on Issues of a 'Different' Republican," New York Times, June 27, 2000
Bad. Both Bush and McCain have pushed for "Comprehensive Immigration Reform"...meaning, amnesty for those who broke American law and entered the US illegally.

Q: After Saddam Hussein was captured in 2003, who said "Mission Accomplished"?
A: McCain. Bush stood under a “Mission Accomplished” banner. But only McCain actually said it.
Source: "This is a mission accomplished. They know how much influence Saddam Hussein had on the Iraqi people, how much more difficult it made to get their cooperation." --John McCain, ABC's "This Week," December 14, 2003
Good. The mission of the Joint Resolution of Congress was to remove Saddam by military force if necessary. It proved to be necessary to use military force and Saddam was removed, his statues and pictures were torn down by Iraqi citizens, his insane sons were killed and Saddam was hung by Iraqis after a trial in Iraqi courts. Mission accomplished at the moment Saddam went into hiding.

"McCain Says Bank Bailout Should End 'Systemic Risk'," Bloomberg News, March 25, 2008
Good. In the real world that's what people do. They take a second job to pay their bills if necessary. Only in the libo fantasy world are people bailed out for spending beyond their ability to earn. Neither should the lenders, banks, insurance companies and brokerage houses have been bailed out.

Q: As Hurricane Katrina slammed into New Orleans, who took time out for a photo op with a birthday cake in Phoenix, Arizona?
A: Both Bush and McCain. It was McCain's 69th birthday, and both men cut cake and took photos with the press while Katrina was devastating New Orleans.
Source: "President George W. Bush joins Arizona Senator John McCain in a small celebration of McCain's 69th birthday," The White House, August 29, 2005
"Timeline of Hurricane Katrina: August 29, 2005," Wikipedia
"'Judge Me On My Own Record'," Newsweek, April 24, 2008
Good. The celebration of birthdays is an important milestone in Americans lives. The people of LA were warned repeatedly by Bush, by other administration officials and by the head of the National Weather Service. They were warned directly as was the Mayor of New Orleans and the Governor to immediately institute a mandatory evacuation of the area...and they ignored every warning. The Governor,,Blanco was more concerned about how she looked on television and the Mayor sat on his ass with about 500 municipal buses and school buses at his disposal and never so much as started a single bus. The pictures I saw showed them up to the tops of their tires in flood waters still sitting in their parking lots

Q: Who received a zero percent rating for his environmental record from the League of Conservation Voters last year?
A: McCain.
Source: "Conservationists score McCain zero," Associated Press, February 21, 2008
"2007 National Environmental Scorecard," League of Conservation Voters
Good. We need to completely defund these nuts and get them totally out of decision making positions anywhere near the levers of power in states and at the federal level.

Q: Who opposed health care for uninsured children last year?
A: Both Bush and McCain. The Children’s Defense Fund even rated John McCain as the worst senator in Congress for children.
Source: "McCain: Bush right to veto kids health insurance expansion," CNN, October 3, 2007
"2007 Children's Defense Fund Action Council Nonpartisan Congressional Scorecard," February 2008
Good. This insane health care plan for children would have taken children...lots of children out of the private insurance plans their parents had and put them under a federal plan. There is no authority for the federal government to be involved in health insurance for anyone...except perhaps for federal employees. If anything, this is a state responsibility.

Q: Who won the support of 7 out of 10 independent voters in his home state?
Source: "John McCain," The Notable Names Database Weblog
"John McCain: Happy for George W. Bush's support," Chicago Tribune, February 15, 2008
Good. We have entirely too many do nothing egg headed morons in Washington DC. Give me a doer every time over the braincell deprived theorists who infest Washington DC.

Q: Who blocked a proposal to ban water boarding torture in the U.S.?
A: Both Bush and McCain. McCain has built his reputation on opposing torture, but while running for the Republican nomination, he voted against a bill to ban the torture. Then he applauded President Bush for vetoing the torture ban.
Source: "McCain Sides With Bush On Torture Again, Supports Veto Of Anti-Waterboarding Bill," ThinkProgress, February 20, 2008
Good. This bill contained language which went far beyond waterboarding...which by the way is not torture. To leftist morons, simply being held captive after being captured on the battlefields with weapons in their hands fighting against US military forces...is torture.

Good. No bigger hoax has ever been perpetrated on the world than so called global warming. The earth has been in a cooling period since 1998 and global warming nuts tell us that in 15 years, the warming will start up again. As if they actually knew or could actually find their own as$es.

Don't be fooled!
McCain seems like a nice guy but he's a big ol' neocon! http://www.bush-mccainchallenge.com/index.html?id=
Good. I like it that McCain is combative. Much better than the wuss O'Bomber. One thing is certain. Bush has established once and for all that it's not a good idea to attack the United States. McCain would carry that concept forward. The wuss, O'Bomber wants to talk to our enemies...and bomb our friends and allies. Moron.

Source: "I don't think Americans are concerned if we're there for 100 years or 1,000 years or 10,000 years." --John McCain, CBS' "Face the Nation," January 6, 2008
Good. I like the idea there is a large force of US military...fully equipped right in the heart of the middle east between Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, Jordan and Kuwait. It's also proved to be the right policy since tens of thousands of al-Qaeda and other terrorists have been killed trying to make Iraq the central battleground in their fight against the US. And just think, we didn't have to go looking for them under the rocks which they usually hide under. They came to us.

Well Jwhop I know you're voting for McCain!

Although you make yourself sound like you get more than one vote, unfortunately for you, you don't. I will cancel out your vote for McCain with my vote for Obillary.

Also, I'm pretty sure Mannu, despite his many opinions, doesn't get a vote. Correct me if I'm wrong, Mannu.

Well Blue, I accept that thumb sucking whiners would necessarily want to flock together but have you heard the latest whining from O'Bomber?

Seems there's little which can be said about O'bomber which won't send O'Bomber into ranting, shrieking, whining thumbsucking mode.

RUSH: "With Obama we started out, we couldn't talk about his big ears 'cause that made him nervous. We've gone from that to this: Not only can we not mention his ears...

We can't talk about his mother.

We can't talk about his father.

We can't talk about his grandmother unless he does, brings her up as a "typical white person."

We can't talk about his wife, can't talk about his preacher, can't talk about his terrorist friends, can't talk about his voting record, can't talk about his religion.

We can't talk about appeasement.

We can't talk about color; we can't talk about lack of color.

We can't talk about race. We can't talk about bombers and mobsters who are his friends. We can't talk about schooling. We can't talk about his name, "Hussein."

We can't talk about his lack of experience. Can't talk about his income. Can't talk about his flag pin.

This started out we can't call him a liberal.

It started out we just couldn't talk about his ears.

Now we can't say anything about him."

But Blue, we're going to talk about all this and more...cause we're the evil vast right wing conspiracy.

We can't say his last name because it is 80 percent similar to Osama.
We can't say his middle name because he shares it with Osama.
We can't say his first name even because it reminds people of Iraq.
So what the heck do we call him?
How about Bo? Oh wait you can't its the name of your dog. Ok how about simply B?
No wait thats the second letter of the alphabet, he ain't second class.
