I dunno peace but Canadian citizens living in Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia and other Provinces of Canada might take exception to your friend's statement...that France is a nicer version of Canada.

Even those in Quebec might take umbrage.

I believe it's the physical environment.
I doubt if it's personality wise,since there is a good and bad in everyone regardless of what nation your from.
