It's "hysterical", the equivalent of McCain nominating Michael Moore for VP.

Two opposing viewpoints

Reaction to Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's selection of Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware as his running mate.

___

"In naming my colleague and friend Sen. Joe Biden to be the vice presidential nominee, Sen. Obama has continued in the best traditions for the vice presidency by selecting an exceptionally strong, experienced leader and devoted public servant. Sen. Biden will be a purposeful and dynamic vice president who will help Sen. Obama both win the presidency and govern this great country." — Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.

___

"There has been no harsher critic of Barack Obama's lack of experience than Joe Biden. Biden has denounced Barack Obama's poor foreign policy judgment and has strongly argued in his own words what Americans are quickly realizing — that Barack Obama is not ready to be president." — Ben Porritt, spokesman for the John McCain campaign.

... and the race is on

... Oh, I didn`t get my Obama tire gauge. Already have one or two. I`ll just leave them for those who didn`t know tire pressure (or lack thereof) would lead the country out of the energy crisis.

Freudian slip

quote:

Barack Obama accidentally introduced his running mate Joe Biden as the next president of the United States Saturday, a slip-of-the-tongue the McCain campaign is calling "Freudian."

“Barack Obama sounded as though he turned over the top spot on the ticket today to his new mentor, when he introduced Joe Biden as the next president," McCain campaign spokesman Ben Porritt said. "The reality is that nothing has changed since Joe Biden first made his assessment that Barack Obama is not ready to lead. He wasn’t ready then and he isn’t ready now.”

Another McCain aide told CNN Obama "slipped with the truth that his own experience is too underwhelming to be president."

The slip-up came earlier Saturday as the Illinois senator introduced Joe Biden for the first time as his vice presidential candidate, saying "The next president," before quickly correcting.

I wonder if it's a psychic prediction. It's not outside the realm of possibility that an Obama win might see the return of Presidential assassination, which would land Biden in the top spot.

Hahaha, O'Bomber has been running against Washington DC politics and now, he's picked an institutionalized DC-crat, Joe, the mouth, Biden.

Got to love it. They're off to a good start as noted here but Biden has his own problem with getting it right. Perhaps it's just all too new for him but he called O'Bomber..Barack America.

"But after today's Obama-Biden speeches to a massive crowd in Springfield, Ill., many reporters are rolling back the tape and asking each other, "Did he really say that?"

When introducing his running mate, Obama said, "So let me introduce to you the next president - the next vice president of the US of America, Joe Biden."

And then when it was Biden's turn to speak, the Delaware senator called the presumptive Democratic nominee "Barack America" instead of Barack Obama.

"My friends, I don't have to tell you, this election year the choice is clear. One man stands ready to deliver change we desperately need. A man I’m proud to call my friend. A man who will be the next president of the United States, Barack America,” Biden said, per ABC News' Sunlen Miller.

However the official Obama campaign transcript of Biden's remarks sent to reporters omitted part of the misspeak, reading: "A man who will be the next president of the United States, Barack Amer – You know, you learn a lot of things being up close with a guy."

AG, that reminded me of an article I read.

May 21, 2008
By Joe Hanel | Herald Denver Bureau

DENVER - Forget about Tuesday's votes in Oregon and Kentucky. Barack Obama has won the Cosmic Primary and is destined to be the next president of the United States.

Seven leading astrologers consulted their charts and came to the unanimous conclusion, which they shared Tuesday at the United Astrology Conference in Denver.

Although the crowd of several hundred cheered at the forecast, the seven panelists shared a sense of foreboding.

"There are things that are going to happen in the next couple of months that could turn the game into something different than we think it is right now," said Shelley Ackerman, a New York City astrologer who appears frequently on television and radio shows.

A time of upheaval is coming, they agreed. Election Day - Nov. 4 - will put Saturn in opposition to Uranus, meaning the two planets are aligned at opposite ends of the zodiac. Saturn symbolizes experience and the establishment. Uranus is the planet of change and youth. When they are opposed, the country sees a period of "revolutionary fervor," said Raymond Merriman, the panel's moderator. The last Saturn-Uranus opposition was from 1965-67, a time of drastic cultural change.

Other astrological events during the summer make the election unpredictable. Democrats will gather in Denver for their national convention in August - the same month as a solar eclipse and a partial lunar eclipse.

The events raise the possibility of President Bush somehow interfering with the election, said Robert Hand of Reston, Va.

In fact, most of the astrologers on the panel weren't sure if the winner of the election would be the same person taking the oath of office on Inauguration Day. Some of them expressed concern about Obama's personal safety.

"I'm hoping they really pump up the security around him. I'm just really concerned about that," said Sandra Leigh-Serio of Boulder.

And the election gets even trickier for astrologers.

It's the single most "screwed-up" election from an astrological perspective in decades, Hand said.

"We don't have a single solid birth chart, so this is going to be very difficult," Hand said.

Astrologers think Hillary Clinton was born at 8:02 a.m. Oct. 26, that John McCain was born at 9 a.m. Aug. 29 and that Obama was born at 7:11 p.m. Aug. 4. But those times might not be accurate, and if they're not, then all bets are off with the candidates' astrological charts, Hand said.

And most menacing of all, whoever wins might regret it. The charts don't look good at all for Jan. 20, Inauguration Day.

"Whoever gets sworn in, it ain't going to work too well," Ackerman said.

Someone posted Obama's chart in the Astrology section awhile back. I don't recall the details of the chart at the moment, though I seem to remember some 12th house placements.

Let's face it....either way, America is doomed, this empire is starting to topple under the weight of its own greed...

Whoever comes into office has such a sh!tastic mess to clean up that the populous will blame them for anything bad that occurs.

I love a country where Obama is more likely to be assassinated than Bush....America loves an idiot, what can I say?

Good point Juniperb, as much as I do not agree with her predictions, it reminds me of Sylvia Browne's prophecy:

I predict the President elected sometime after 2008 will die in office from a heart attack. The Vice President who will finish their term will have an unpopular and mistaken intention to declare war on North Korea. By that time, North Korea will have weapons of mass destruction. In the middle of efforts to declare war, I predict the Vice President will be assassinated.

There will be a worldwide investigation into the Vice President's death with both pleasant and unpleasant surprises. A lot of attention will be paid to one of the investigative congressional committees and serious accusations will be made regarding missing funds. Finally, it will be revealed that their accusations are part of a conspiracy to damage the American people's faith in their government, with the media manipulated to "fan the flames," and the committee will be vindicated in the end.

"I'm with you jwhop... BREAK OUT THE POPCORN"

Got the popcorn Pid. I've been watching the democrat convention and the O'Bomber Kool-Aid drinkers are lapping up the meaningless phrases and cliches the empty suits are spouting like mother's milk.

If ever there was a group which glories in lying and being lied to it's the empty headed left.

I don't particularly care for astrological predictions in politics. Sometimes it's interesting when they dissect an event after the fact, but I don't think I've ever seen one of these predictions come true.

I think you're right Acoustic. I haven't seen any of these astrological election predictions come true either.

Perhaps it's a function of not knowing exact birth times of candidates or using the wrong day and or time for the chart of the United States.
