Conservatives are laughing and yet dumbfounded that O'Biden would be questioning O'Bomber's decision to choose him for VP.

It's delicious that the VP pick would say Hillary is qualified to be President and maybe a better candidate for VP than he is.

Picking a VP candidate is the first major decision a Presidential candidate makes and it's a test of judgment.

It seems hysterically funny that O'Biden is questioning O'Bomber's judgment in choosing him.

Of course, conservatives knew it was just a matter of time before O'Biden put his foot squarely in his mouth.

Wednesday Funnies: Biden Says Hillary A Better VP Pick Than Him
By Noel Sheppard (Bio | Archive)
September 10, 2008 - 18:27 ET

Whether it's the suddenly surging McCain-Palin ticket, or Joe Biden doing what he does best -- shooting from the hip when he should be tight-lipped! -- the Democrat vice presidential nominee made a statement on the stump today that will make conservatives giggle, liberals cringe, and media members pray nobody sees it

"Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be Vice President of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend; she is qualified to be President of the United States of America. She’s easily qualified to be Vice President of the United States of America and quite frankly it might have been a better pick than me, but she is first-rate."

You think this will make Democrats even more edgy about the way things are going?

Yes, that was a rhetorical question.

Of course, what makes this even more delicious is what Obama told CNN's Candy Crowley back in June:

Calling his choice of running mate "the most important decision that I will make before I am president," the senator from Illinois said he would "be deliberate and systematic about it, because this will be my final counselor when I am making decisions in the White House, and I want to make sure I get it

I get it's reassuring to the junior senator from Illinois that the person he picked doesn't agree with his decision.

Honestly, you can't make this stuff up.

If you don't believe O'Biden said that...play the video.

I don't really see a story there. I don't think Biden is saying Obama made the wrong choice. If he really believed that he wouldn't have joined the ticket.

That is bungling incompetence at it's worst.

Suggesting Hillary is perhaps more competent than he and that perhaps Hillary should have been O'Bomber's VP pick spikes O'Bomber's own first major decision.

O'Biden didn't have to say a word. He was not responding to a question about Hillary's competence or experience. O'Biden just opens his mouth and accidents happen.

Nope, no story there!!

Biden: Hillary a Better Pick Than Me September 10, 2008 5:17 PM

ABC News' Matthew Jaffe reports: Sen. Barack Obama's, D-Ill., vice presidential nominee, Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., Wednesday said that Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., might have been a better pick for the position than him.

At a rally in Nashua, N.H., a man in the audience told Biden how glad he was that Obama picked him over Hillary, "not because she's a woman, but because, look at the things she did in the past."

"Make no mistake about this," Biden responded. "Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend, she is qualified to be president of the United States of America, she’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America, and quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me. But she’s first rate, I mean that sincerely, she’s first rate, so let’s get that straight."

Spokesman Ben Porritt offered this response from the McCain camp: "Barack Obama’s most important decision of this election, and Biden -- the candidate he selects -- suggests, himself, that he wasn’t the right man for the job, and that Hillary Clinton would have been a better choice. Biden certainly has a credible viewpoint on this."

HRC Qualified or not, would have been a galvanizing point for the GOP, it would have been all Clinton all the time 24/7. NOthing would have brought the GOP together faster than to insure she did not win.

Biden, are you suffering from low self-esteem? Do you need a hug?

Would be the same ole crap in Washington ....

Posted by: indp voter | Sep 10, 2008 5:38:51 PM

Joe, be a man and step a side so that Obama can correct his mistake by replacing you with Hillary as VP. Otherwise you will be known as the spoiler of the century

Great move by Biden to grease his way on EXIT and set the stage for Hillary to come in , Dont think this hasn't been discuss the sooner you do it the better , I always felt Biden would be better serve as SEC OF STATE he loves to travel .

So Hillary come on down and get into the spotlight again
when you go heads up against Palin , her camp CAN'T USE THE SEXISM CARD.

Boy o boy , i'd be happy if Joe steps aside for Hillary Clinton.

I want to win.

Joe gets this. Can anybody ask Obama is he understand this? I hope he will be questioned about why he skipped Hillary.

Did any one watch O'Rily grill Obama on his ties with Ayers, Wright? It is a disaster. Obama behaved like a high school boy caught cheating in an exam.

I'm beginning to agree with Biden, not because I think Hillary would have been a better pick, but because Biden cannot even produce confidence in the ticket!!! What is he trying to do? Hash up old feelings and sabotage Obama??? I'm beginning to not trust him at all. The old farts in politics just can't move over and support the new blood can they? This whole "praise the females so much it doesn't even make sense" is getting sickening. From a married, church-going, working, mother of 3 children, and a democrat, stop the nicey talk and try to win dang it, I'm not investing in you to praise the other party and set the people who lost in the primaries on a pedestal!!!

Posted by: Rita | Sep 10, 2008 5:50:11 PM

McCain and Palin are liars..that's a FACT

Posted by: Rednecks for Obama | Sep 10, 2008 5:50:21 PM

Joe Biden has convinced me that he will assist in the loss of Obama if he keeps this nonsense up......

Perhaps you should step aside Mr. Joe Biden......

Posted by: shalom | Sep 10, 2008 5:50:41 PM

I think Obama being one to always copy off others ideals----wants to trade Biden in for a woman and this is just the ground work for Biden to step down so Hill can replace him.

Posted by: chattyway | Sep 10, 2008 5:56:12 PM

Obama was asked on "Nightline" if he thought no picking Hillary was a mistake .. but he didn't answer the question!

Posted by: Francisco Cardenas | Sep 10, 2008 5:56:39 PM

Why didn't you tell that to Obama? You should of said then: "Thanks man, but no thanks, pick Hillary, she is better qualify to be your VP".
But what you actually said is: "Why it took you so long?"
Go figure....
BTW, I don't think he can drop out and pick Hillary. And if I was Hillary, after all this staging phony roll call on DNC, I would of say "NO". Women has to have her honor and dignity. Which I think she does.

Posted by: Phillip | Sep 10, 2008 5:56:50 PM

I think Biden is a better choice than Hillary. He's much better looking and looks a lot better in a suit! Less wrinkles too!

Posted by: dl | Sep 10, 2008 5:57:38 PM

Biden is full of bad comments, "Obama America!" "Clinton is better vp than me", more fuel for McCain to use. It just gets worst and worst for Obama.

This must be the first time he ever spoke the truth

The signs are everywhere, Obama lost his momentum with appearance of Palin on the world stage.

I hope truth wins.

One thing is true. O'Bomber's numbers are falling like a rock and there's a shift of women from O'Bomber to McCain...men too.

O'Biden just can't help himself. He's the automatic gaffe machine.

Now, O'Biden says Roosevelt was President when the stock market and banks crashed in 1929...and that Roosevelt went on television to assure the American public.

Whoops

Herbert Hoover was President in 1929 and the first televised appearance by a President occured in 1939.

O'Biden needs to be writing comedy skits instead of seeking the VP in O'Bomber's non administration.

How is it possible that Biden has been in the US Senate for all these many years...and he's a demoscat but doesn't know the recent history of presidential administrations...especially democrat administrations?

I think this one ranks above the Kerry gaffe...the one when Kerry said Richard Nixon sent him into Cambodia in December 1968...on a secret mission, of course and the memory of those events were "seared into my memory".

Richard Nixon didn't take office until January 20, 1969.

In gaffe, Biden said FDR led when market crashed Tue Sep 23, 5:50 PM ET

WASHINGTON - Vice presidential candidate Joe Biden says today's leaders should take a lesson from the history books and follow fellow Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt's response to a financial crisis.

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, 'Look, here's what happened,'" Barack Obama's running mate recently told the "CBS Evening News."

Except, Republican Herbert Hoover was in office when the stock market crashed in October 1929.

FDR was elected three years later when voters denied Hoover a second term. The Democratic challenger appealed to the "forgotten man" by promising a "new deal" to solve the Depression era.

Democrats usually like to remind the public that a Republican was president during the 1929 stock market crash. During the 2004 presidential election, John Kerry's campaign repeatedly cited Hoover as the last president until George W. Bush to oversee a loss of jobs during his time in office.

Biden was commenting on the stock market crash when he said leaders should explain the current economic crisis and how to solve it to the public.

"Part of what being a leader does is to instill confidence, is to demonstrate what he or she knows what they are talking about and to communicating to people ... this is how we can fix this," Biden said.

O'Biden drives a stake in the heart of another O'Bomber initiative...the development of clean coal technology.

This guy is priceless. While O'Bomber is running all over America touting his energy plan...which he says includes "clean coal", O'Biden is saying...we're not going to do clean coal.

Play the video...then remember what O'Bomber has been touting as part of "his energy plan".

So who gets to use coal in their power plants...correct answer is China. And what should America do about all those dirty coal powered electricity producing plants in China? Well, according to O'Biden, the US should force China to develop and use "clean coal technology".

Question, where's the NY Times, the Associated Press, the Washington Post, the Boston Globe and the Los Angeles Times to report O'Biden's continuing string of goofs and gaffes?? But hey, the press is not in the bag for O'Bomber...so they say.

Biden: 'No coal plants here in America'

Some great rope line video from Joe Biden's recent Ohio swing, where he was asked by an anti-pollution campaigner about clean coal -- a controversial approach in Democratic circles for which Obama has voiced support, particularly during the Kentucky primary.

Biden's apparent answer: He supports clean coal for China, but not for the United States.

"No coal plants here in America," he said. "Build them, if they're going to build them, over there. Make them clean."

"We’re not supporting clean coal," he said of himself and Obama. They do, on paper, support clean coal.

patronizing jackass

I think Biden is so painfully, obviously desperate to get into the White House, he'd accept the VP invitation from Lucifer himself.

There are some people who are convinced he did.
