Treasury Secretary Paulson announced today that they're going to start working out a way out of the financial crisis. They say they'll be working with members of Congress on it. I hope they're uncommonly efficient in pursuing whatever course of action they want to follow. I also hope political opportunism doesn't come into play with whatever they work out.

It would seem I need to further qualify my position. Yes, it should be fast, but no it shouldn't try to circumvent the possibility of judicial review. Nor should it just be a free, unaccountable pass. I wouldn't have thought that they'd suggest such things, so I can understand the bipartisan skepticism of what the Administration has proposed, and further agree that they should wait for a more defined plan.
