Mention Algore's name in thinking circles...those who actually think..and it's mostly snickers all around. Algore has become a laughing stock all over America for his dogmatic clinging to the religion of man made global warming.

It's increasingly hard for those in the "religion" to keep the "faith" when record cold, record snowfall and earlier cold and earlier snowfall is occurring and has been occurring all over America...and around the world.

Temperatures around the world have been falling since 1999 and now approximate those in 1980.

Still, Algore soldiers on and continues to cling to the global warming hoax...which btw has made Algore more than $100,000,000...that's more than one hundred million dollars by trading carbon offset credits.

So, while people all over America are shivering, schools, businesses, city government and county governments are shut down in parts of the country due to sub freezing temperatures and snow which cannot be cleared as fast as it's falling, Algore is still preaching the man made global warming religion.

So, the earth is not being turned into a cinder by man made global warming nor are we going to be turned into crispy critters. So what else is Algore preaching to the "faithful"? Oh yeah, we're going to perish in a flood as the ice caps melt and sea levels rise. What Algore...and his band of catastrophe clingers seen to not understand is that sea levels have been rising for the last 25,000 years...which coincides with the end of the last "ice age".

One would think Algore would have gotten the message by now; especially when a large underground water main froze, then broke in Washington D.C. and people were stranded in their cars with some needing to be helicoptered from the scene of the cold disaster. But one would be wrong to believe Algore would finally see the light; selling carbon offset credits is just way too lucrative to be passed up.

Global warming dissenters dash scientific 'consensus'
Physicist fired by Gore adds name to Senate list of 650 anti-alarmists

U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee minority report

The Republican minority of the Senate's Environment and Public Works Committee released a report that includes a growing list of over 650 international experts who soundly debunk the claim that there exists a "consensus" in science that human activity is causing a global warming.

The introduction to the 231-page Senate minority report states, "The chorus of skeptical scientific voices grew louder in 2008 as a steady stream of peer-reviewed studies, analyses, real world data and inconvenient developments challenged the UN's and former Vice President Al Gore's claims that the 'science is settled.'"

The report includes links to dozens of news reports, statements and studies and concludes, "Developments further secured 2008 as the year the 'consensus' collapsed."

The majority of the 231 pages, however, is composed of statements from the 650 scientists, meteorologists and experts who remain skeptical that carbon dioxide – or any other product of human activity – is endangering the earth through generating global warming.

Yesterday, a prominent Princeton physicist and former top government scientist – who says he was fired by Al Gore for resisting the vice president's alarmist agenda – asked to be added to the list of global warming dissenters.

Dr. William Happer

"I am convinced that the current alarm over carbon dioxide is mistaken," said Dr. William Happer, who began serving as the director of the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy under the first President Bush in July of 1991. "Fears about man-made global warming are unwarranted and are not based on good science."

But when Happer testified before Congress under the Clinton administration in 1993, saying, "I think that there probably has been some exaggeration of the dangers of ozone and global climate change," he lost his government position.

"I had the privilege of being fired by Al Gore, since I refused to go along with his alarmism," Happer told Senate leaders yesterday.

Happer had stated of Gore shortly after his firing in 1993, "I was told that science was not going to intrude on policy."

The Senate minority's report includes testimony from several scientists who also claim that sound science is being buried when it conflicts with the global warming political agenda.

For example, the report quotes Ivar Giaever, Nobel Prize winner: "I am a skeptic. … Global warming has become a new religion."

"Creating an ideology pegged to carbon dioxide is a dangerous nonsense," says environmental scientist Delgado Domingos of Portugal, the founder of the Numerical Weather Forecast group, "The present alarm on climate change is an instrument of social control, a pretext for major businesses and political battle. It became an ideology, which is concerning."

The minority report also quotes several news outlets, however, who contend global warming skeptics are few and untrustworthy.

"The scientific debate is over," said CNN's Miles O'Brien, in 2007. "We're done."

O'Brien, the Senate report also notes, said in 2006 that scientific skeptics of man-made catastrophic global warming "are bought and paid for by the fossil fuel industry, usually."

Andrew Dessler of the eco-publication Grist Magazine is quoted by the report as stating, "While some people claim there are lots of skeptical climate scientists out there, if you actually try to find one, you keep turning up the same two dozen or so. These skeptics are endlessly recycled by the denial machine, so someone not paying close attention might think there are lots of them out there – but that's not the case."

The ranking minority member of the Senate's Environment and Public Works Committee, Sen. Tom Inhofe, R-Okla., however, points to the growing list of scientists his office has accumulated and disagrees.

"The endless claims of a 'consensus' about man-made global warming," Inhofe said in announcing the minority report, "grow less and less credible every day."

Probably in agreement with Inhofe's statement would be the more than 31,000 scientists, including more than 9,000 Ph.D.s, who have signed a massive separate petition project that challenges the belief in global warming.

Art Robinson, a research professor of chemistry and co-founder of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine, said the Petition Project's signers simply state their agreement with the statement:

"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."

The Petition Project's website includes both a list of scientists by name as well as a list of scientists by state.

When it is unseasonable warm.. they blame Global Warming

When it is unseasonable cold.. they blame Global Warming..

Is anyone else confused? LOL...

I sit here contemplating Global warming while bundled up on a very cold day here in Germany. Heck, we've had more below normal days here that above with a very short summer.

I guess that is global warming too?

Forcasters are telling us that Europe needs to prepare for some of the coldest days on record.. Global Warming LOL..

Alarmism sells newspapers: then and now
Ben-Peter Terpstra
"How and Why Earth Will End?" - The Washington Post Sunday, March 23, 1913

What the hell? Pick your Armageddon. Check out these Gore-like whoppers from the Wapo almost a century ago:

Plain Global Plunging: "SCIENTISTS BELIEVE OUR UNIVERSE WILL SOME DAY PLUNGE INTO THE SUN."

Global Terminating: "SCIENCE in the course of the ages has evolved a number of different theories as to the final end of our present stable appearing, comfortable old world. That it must terminate no one disputes."

Stellar Global Plunging: "There is one theory which claims that we will some day plunge into the sun...The claim is based on recent stellar discoveries..."

Global Sinking: "...we are told that the crust of the earth is a falling structure bound to sink beneath the weight of its mountains and continents and peoples into a seething liquid mass at the center."

Global Cooling: "A third possibility is the extinction of heat in the sun in which case everything on the face of the earth would become cold and all life extinct."

Global Contracting: "Still a fourth is the gradual cooling and contracting on the earth's surface until it becomes a dead, scarred thing like our not distant moon."

Global Colliding: "The fifth theory is considered by most scientists as the least likely and yet it is by no means impossible. The collision of our earth with some other rapidly moving body is not at all impossible. In such a case the end will not be slow in arriving after the first start has begun. Extinction will be immediate."

In chilly 2008, "global warming" is all the rage at The Washington Post. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Even your Christmas lights cause "global warming" because making electricity emits the dreaded CO2.

By all means, rush out and buy some "green" Christmas lights...which contain "mercury".

I wonder where the morons think the electricity comes from to recharge the batteries on the electric cars the man made global warming nuts are pushing?

Scientists warn Christmas lights harm the planet
By Graham Readfearn
December 24, 2008 08:06am

SCIENTISTS have warned that Christmas lights are bad for the planet due to huge electricity waste and urged people to get energy efficient festive bulbs.

CSIRO researchers said householders should know that each bulb turned on in the name of Christmas will increase emissions of greenhouse gases.

Dr Glenn Platt, who leads research on energy demand, said Australia got 80 per cent of its electricity by burning coal which pumps harmful emissions into the atmosphere.

He said: "Energy efficient bulbs, such as LEDs, and putting your Christmas lights on a timer are two very easy ways to minimise the amount of electricity you use to power your lights."

He said the nation's electricity came from "centralised carbon intensive, coal-based power stations" which were responsible for emitting over one third of Australia's greenhouse gas emissions.

Dr Platt added: "For a zero-emission Christmas light show, you may consider using solar powered lights or sourcing your electricity from verified green power suppliers."

2008 was the year man-made global warming was disproved
Looking back over my columns of the past 12 months, one of their major themes was neatly encapsulated by two recent items from The Daily Telegraph.

By Christopher Booker
Last Updated: 10:59AM GMT 28 Dec 2008

Polar bears will be fine after all

The first, on May 21, headed "Climate change threat to Alpine ski resorts" , reported that the entire Alpine "winter sports industry" could soon "grind to a halt for lack of snow". The second, on December 19, headed "The Alps have best snow conditions in a generation" , reported that this winter's Alpine snowfalls "look set to beat all records by New Year's Day".

Easily one of the most important stories of 2008 has been all the evidence suggesting that this may be looked back on as the year when there was a turning point in the great worldwide panic over man-made global warming. Just when politicians in Europe and America have been adopting the most costly and damaging measures politicians have ever proposed, to combat this supposed menace, the tide has turned in three significant respects.

First, all over the world, temperatures have been dropping in a way wholly unpredicted by all those computer models which have been used as the main drivers of the scare. Last winter, as temperatures plummeted, many parts of the world had snowfalls on a scale not seen for decades. This winter, with the whole of Canada and half the US under snow, looks likely to be even worse. After several years flatlining, global temperatures have dropped sharply enough to cancel out much of their net rise in the 20th century.

Ever shriller and more frantic has become the insistence of the warmists, cheered on by their army of media groupies such as the BBC, that the last 10 years have been the "hottest in history" and that the North Pole would soon be ice-free – as the poles remain defiantly icebound and those polar bears fail to drown. All those hysterical predictions that we are seeing more droughts and hurricanes than ever before have infuriatingly failed to materialise.

Even the more cautious scientific acolytes of the official orthodoxy now admit that, thanks to "natural factors" such as ocean currents, temperatures have failed to rise as predicted (although they plaintively assure us that this cooling effect is merely "masking the underlying warming trend", and that the temperature rise will resume worse than ever by the middle of the next decade).

Secondly, 2008 was the year when any pretence that there was a "scientific consensus" in favour of man-made global warming collapsed. At long last, as in the Manhattan Declaration last March, hundreds of proper scientists, including many of the world's most eminent climate experts, have been rallying to pour scorn on that "consensus" which was only a politically engineered artefact, based on ever more blatantly manipulated data and computer models programmed to produce no more than convenient fictions.

Thirdly, as banks collapsed and the global economy plunged into its worst recession for decades, harsh reality at last began to break in on those self-deluding dreams which have for so long possessed almost every politician in the western world. As we saw in this month's Poznan conference, when 10,000 politicians, officials and "environmentalists" gathered to plan next year's "son of Kyoto" treaty in Copenhagen, panicking politicians are waking up to the fact that the world can no longer afford all those quixotic schemes for "combating climate change" with which they were so happy to indulge themselves in more comfortable times.

Suddenly it has become rather less appealing that we should divert trillions of dollars, pounds and euros into the fantasy that we could reduce emissions of carbon dioxide by 80 per cent. All those grandiose projects for "emissions trading", "carbon capture", building tens of thousands more useless wind turbines, switching vast areas of farmland from producing food to "biofuels", are being exposed as no more than enormously damaging and futile gestures, costing astronomic sums we no longer possess.

As 2009 dawns, it is time we in Britain faced up to the genuine crisis now fast approaching from the fact that – unless we get on very soon with building enough proper power stations to fill our looming "energy gap" - within a few years our lights will go out and what remains of our economy will judder to a halt. After years of infantile displacement activity, it is high time our politicians – along with those of the EU and President Obama's US – were brought back with a mighty jolt into contact with the real world.........

May I finally thank all those readers who have written to me in 2008 – so many that, as usual, it has not been possible to answer all their messages. But their support and information has been hugely appreciated. May I wish them and all of you a happy (if globally not too warm) New Year.

Well katatonic, that's a step in the right direction but I have a question. What "conservative haters" are you talking about?

I note there is a demoscat Senator in the US Senate who was once a top leader of the KKK...Senator KKK Byrd and of course, who can forget the hateful Al Gore Sr., father of the blockhead Algore and his ideological twin Senator William J Fulbright, political mentor of Bill...Kommander Korruption..Clinton both of whom attempted to table..block the civil rights legislation in the mid 1960's.

So, I'm not sure of whom you're talking about when you say..."conservative haters".

It's time to pray for global warming, says Flint Journal columnist John Tomlinson
by John Foren | Flint Journal Editor
Monday January 19, 2009, 4:20 AM

If you're wondering why North America is starting to resemble nuclear winter, then you missed the news.

At December's U.N. Global Warming conference in Poznan, Poland, 650 of the world's top climatologists stood up and said man-made global warming is a media generated myth without basis. Said climatologist Dr. David Gee, Chairman of the International Geological Congress, "For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming?"

I asked myself, why would such obviously smart guy say such a ridiculous thing? But it turns out he's right.

The earth's temperature peaked in 1998. It's been falling ever since; it dropped dramatically in 2007 and got worse in 2008, when temperatures touched 1980 levels.

Meanwhile, the University of Illinois' Arctic Climate Research Center released conclusive satellite photos showing that Arctic ice is back to 1979 levels. What's more, measurements of Antarctic ice now show that its accumulation is up 5 percent since 1980.

In other words, during what was supposed to be massive global warming, the biggest chunks of ice on earth grew larger. Just as an aside, do you remember when the hole in the ozone layer was going to melt Antarctica? But don't worry, we're safe now, that was the nineties.

Dr. Kunihiko, Chancellor of Japan's Institute of Science and Technology said this: "CO2 emissions make absolutely no difference one way or the other ... every scientist knows this, but it doesn't pay to say so." Now why would a learned man say such a crazy thing?

This is where the looney left gets lost. Their mantra is atmospheric CO2 levels are escalating and this is unquestionably causing earth's temperature rise. But ask yourself -- if global temperatures are experiencing the biggest sustained drop in decades, while CO2 levels continue to rise -- how can it be true?

Ironically, in spite of being shown false, we must now pray for it. Because a massive study, just released by the Russian Government, contains overwhelming evidence that earth is on the verge of another Ice Age.

Based on core samples from Russia's Vostok Station in Antarctica, we now know earth's atmosphere and temperature for the last 420,000 years. This evidence suggests that the 12,000 years of warmth we call the Holocene period is over.

Apparently, we're headed into an ice age of about 100,000 years -- give or take. As for CO2 levels, core samples show conclusively they follow the earth's temperature rise, not lead it.

It turns out CO2 fluctuations follow the change in sea temperature. As water temperatures rise, oceans release additional dissolved CO2 -- like opening a warm brewsky.

To think, early last year, liberals suggested we spend 45 trillion dollars and give up five million jobs to fix global warming. But there is good news: now that we don't have to spend any of that money, we can give it all to the banks.

i was simply referring to the fact that both sides of the liberal-conservative divide resemble each other in their attacks on, their preoccupation with what is wrong with the other side. the conservative-haters are the entrenched "liberal/progressives" (many of whose ideas are seriously conservative, harking back to a half-century ago or more!) and the liberal-haters are the people like you who see any sort of liberality as socialism or worse...its the blinkers and the name-calling that get up my nose more than the ideas. everyone is entitled to their opinions...(which probably brands me as a liberal though in many ways i am not!)

Hmmm katatonic, perhaps you haven't yet heard. I love Liberals. It's lefitsts I don't like and there's a vast divide between Liberals and Leftists. Liberals are not Socialists. Liberals are slightly left of center, but still centrists while Leftists are so far from the center they have both feet dangling off the left edge of the earth.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the same. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2009/01/21/MN8015E0U9.DTL

and I like the comment from one of the readers as follows:
"The intellectual bankruptcy of those who deny that global climate change is real has finally had the wooden stake driven through its heart. Now it is time to try and determine what we can do to mitigate the effects of human activities on the global climate. Let us hope we have more wisdom than has been demonstrated in the past".

i watched a documentary and apparently the reason why nothings done against global warming is because all the big big business, i.e oil, if came to light of their part in global warming, they would have to go out of business. So those with evidence for global warming are locked into an eternal battle of nothingness with those opposed to the idea of rethinking industry and losing precious profit.

how considerate.

Man made "global warming" is such a gigantic hoax that even those who don't bother reading up on the subject know it's a hoax.

The Universe keeps trying to tell the crackpot scientists...and their rabid followers to pull their heads out but it's apparent they aren't getting the message.

Almost without fail, every time there's a global warming protest by the nuts, the Universe intervenes and freezes the protesters out.

This is merely the latest message the Universe attempted to send to the global warming nuts....those who will not believe the real climate scientists but who will believe the crackpots.

These "cooling deniers" still haven't gotten the message the Earth has been cooling for the last 10 years. When glaciers 100 feet thick cover their homes and everything else, they'll still be shouting..."It's Global Warming".

Out With A Shiver: Global Warming Protest Frozen Out by Massive Snowfall
It was snowing irony in Washington on Monday when global warming activists descended on the District like a storm -- but got beaten to the punch by a blast of wintry weather that incapacitated the city.
By Joseph Abrams
FOXNews.com
Monday, March 02, 2009

Global warming protesters gather near the Capitol after a snowstorm dumped half a foot of snow on Washington, D.C. (Reuters).

Global warming activists stormed Washington Monday for what was billed as the nation's largest act of civil disobedience to fight climate change -- only to see the nation's capital virtually shut down by a major winter storm.

Schools and businesses were shuttered, lawmakers cancelled numerous appearances and the city came to a virtual standstill as Washington was blasted with its heaviest snowfall of the winter.

It spelled about six inches of trouble for global warming activists who had hoped to swarm the Capitol by the thousands in an effort to force the government to close the Capitol Power Plant, which heats and cools a number of government buildings, including the Supreme Court and the Capitol.

The snowy scene, with temperatures in the mid-20s, was reminiscent of a day in January 2004, when Al Gore made a major address on global warming in New York -- on one of the coldest days in the city's history.

Protest organizers said about 2,500 people braved the blizzard to oppose greenhouse gas emissions, but the shroud of snow wasn't the only wet blanket in the nation's capital Monday.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called on the architect of the Capitol to stop burning coal at the power plant last week, cancelled her appearance at the rally because her flight to Washington was cancelled.

Pelosi Snowed-Out of Global Warming Rally
Monday, March 02, 2009
By Josiah Ryan and Ryan Byrnes

(Editor's note: After this story was published, the communications director for the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming said that Chairman Ed Markey, D-Mass., could not attend the global warming rally because of a "scheduling conflict.")

(CNSNews.com) – Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) had to cancel an appearance Monday at a global warming rally in Washington, D.C., that was hit by a snowstorm because her flight was delayed, her office told CNSNews.com.

Brianna Cayo-Cotter, the spokesman for the Energy Action Coalition that held the rally, told a group of reporters that she had been in contact with Pelosi and that her flight had been delayed because of inclement weather....read Blizzard

A blizzard Sunday night and early Monday morning blanketed the nation’s capital with snow, causing events to be cancelled and delayed across the city.

House Select Energy Independence and Global Warming Chairman Edward Markey (D-Mass.), who was scheduled to speak at the global warming event, also canceled his appearance because of the inclement weather, a spokesman from his committee’s office told CNSNews.com on Monday.

[Eben Burnham-Snyder, communications director for the committee, later contacted CNSNews.com to say that Markey could not attend the rally not because of the weather but because of a “scheduling conflict.”...***Yeah, he forgot to "schedule" warm weather.***

NRO Writer Predicted Yesterday's DC 'Gore Effect' last December (updated)
Marc Sheppard

It's hard not to crack a smile watching wild-eyed protesters carrying placards decrying the evils of planet-cooking coal in hands fighting the onset of frostbite. Of course, a March blizzard lends no more evidence that the planet is cooling than a May cyclone implied the antithesis. Be that as it may, the so called "Gore-Effect" has become so commonplace that when the "largest mass civil disobedience for the climate in U.S. history" was announced last December, Greg Pollowitz at NRO's Planet Gore actually predicted:

"Anyone want to bet on a snowstorm hitting D.C. on March 2, 2009?"

Talk about a nice call.

Turnout for yesterday's childish gate blockades at the Capital Coal Plant was seriously stifled by the potent mid-winter storm that blanketed the Northeast with snow, effectively shutting down much of the nation's capital. Writing from my home on Long Island, I can assure you -- this storm was the hairiest in many years.

Surely, such coincidences are of virtually no statistical significance. But then again - global warming alarm-a-thons and extreme winter weather recently go together like - well, trailer parks and tornadoes. And that's making the hysterical projections of the likes of Gore and Hansen sound all the more hysterical. And speaking of the latter, perhaps, on top of recent overall cooling trends, both observed and measured, the snickering might somehow be contributing to a certain high-profile alarmist's increasingly erratic behavior of late.

The man has equated coal-fired plants to death camps and coal-carrying trains to the inmate-transporting box-cars leading to them, and called for Nuremburg-style war-crime trials for oil company executives. Now, James Hansen has certainly jeopardized his top NASA position by suggesting citizens actually join him in breaking the law [video] at yesterday's silly "climate justice" assault on Capitol Hill's power source.

Luckily, alarmists aren't wise enough to hedge their bets by scheduling these warm-mongering events exclusively in the heat of summer. That would deny us the spectacle of their leader in melt-down inciting his frenzied followers in multi-layered outerwear.

And while climate realists appreciate the preposterousness of alarmists' sophomoric closed-mindedness each and every day of the year, those during which others join in the laughter provide hope that perhaps not all are so easily duped.

Update -- Rosslyn Smith writes:

While heavy snowstorms in early March are pretty common this one was also trailed by some record setting cold air the media seems to be doing its best to ignore. It was below zero on my front porch this morning. That's unusual here anytime in January much less on March 3.

Curious, I checked online. Zero is well below the record for this day as shown on the daily climate record for my community at weather.com. Nothing about potentially record cold had been mentioned yesterday on the Weather Channel while I was listening. More curious still, I searched today's local and regional news for stories of record cold and found none. But when I checked the daily severe weather reports at wundergound.com I found that record low temps for the month of March were set across many parts of south central Appalachia in the aftermath of this storm. In Lynchburg Virginia the daily record was broken by more than 5 degrees. There were also unusually late season freeze warnings in effect overnight for parts of southern Georgia and Northern Florida where the average low temperatures are now supposed to be in the 40s. The growing season is already underway in these areas, so last night's freeze could mean significant economic loss to farmers and higher food prices.

Is this another case of facts getting in the way of the media narrative? TV meteorologists in particular seemed to have bought into global warming for what I suspect might be career reasons. It is a story that gets them more time
