I don't understand why people don't know or recall that Hamas has killed and persecuted many Palestinians themselves as they solidified their hold on power, that they also kill children and target them intentionally, that many other governments (including Japan which has no interests out there that I know of) consider them terrorists, and have been engaged in evil acts for years now that Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have both reported on. (Yes, AI and HRW also condemn Israel, but it's not like Israel is all evil and the Hamas a bunch of innocents.) Heck, Hamas not only intentionally targets where teens and children are (as opposed to children being "collateral damage"), they even recruit young teens from Palestine to use as suicide bombers!

Btw, ALL Jews are to be exterminated according to the Hamas agenda, not just the ones in Israel, and that includes Jewish children.

I'm not taking sides here, this, to me, is a "bloods vs. crips" sitch in which both sides stink. But I'm baffled by why the media is telling the Hamas side only. Because that's the only side people seem to know or care about. (btw, by not taking sides, I mean between Israel and Palestine, as I think Hamas is an utterly evil party, one that Palestinians have turned to it in utter desperation.)

Like that sign in the first video to "stop killing the children of Palestine." They should shorten that to "stop killing the children," and tell it to BOTH Israel AND Hamas, as BOTH do it, and do it a lot. Why does ONLY Palestine's children matter in this, and not Israel's? I just don't get it.

(I also don't get why some gay groups have supported Hamas--as opposed to opposing Israel, which I could understand--when Hamas has declared that gays are to be exterminated along with the Jews.)

It's a terrible sitch. I just wish I understand why the media was being so one sided on this. Is it just "good journalism" to depict one side as all innocent and the other all evil to make it more compelling, or is there some political angle I'm missing? (Honest question, btw.)

Lol Acoutsic

Dervish 15 Israelis have been killed in the war compared to over a thousand and ov er 5000 injured Palestinians.
How in anyone's name is that justifiable?
True the words Hamas speak are extreme BUT think of the culture, think of the conditions in which they are forced to live, as refugees.Think of the damamge they have actually incurred and think how anyone could reconcile anything without talking to both sides.

I would be veering toward Israel side if they didn't kill innocent children, that is just unacceptable in my eyes.

I am sorry but are you saying it is part of Hamas' culture to try to exterminate people? And if that is what you are saying please explain which culture would you be referring to? And as such if it is okay for one culture to call for an extermination of innocent civilians, why is it not okay for Israel to do likewise...they live in pretty lousy conditions too...not knowing which bus ride will be the last is a pretty horrible life.

I am not justifying the grand scale of the deaths in Gaza, in fact I think this time they have gone too far, but Israel has the right to defend itself and its people...If Hamas chooses to hide out in hospitals and schools risking their own people's lives for the purpose of publicity then it is Hamas's fault NOT Israel's

Ofcourse I'm not saying it is part of Hamas culture to try to exterminate people! What I'm saying is most people are living below the poverty line in Gaza. They are a community of people who live together and share history. Most people have never known the security of have living without the fear of having to move again as refugees. I do not dispute the fact that Israeli's have it hard too BUT this is an obscene war purely because so many innocent people have died. People who put their hope in their own people by voting them into government (even if they are considered to be terrorists). I am taking sides! There should be an immediate ceasefire. I am not pro Israeli or pro-Palestinian but I am pro-life.
I lived in Northern Ireland during the time when the IRA were (and still are) seen as terrorists. Do you know how thankful I am that the Brittish government did not decide to just bomb Northern Ireland to flush out the IRA and disregard any civilians. If that had happened I may not have been alive today. I know what it's like to experience bomb scares and threats of violence but would I wish that on anyone.... NO I would not.
Israel is out of line.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamas#Hamas_founding_charter

quote:
* Article 7 of the Hamas Covenant states the following: "The Day of Judgement will not come about until Muslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Muslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharqad tree would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews." (related by al-Bukhari and Muslem).

* Article 22 claims that the French revolution, the Russian revolution, colonialism and both world wars were created by the Zionists. It also claims the Freemasons and Rotary clubs are Zionist fronts.

"You may speak as much as you want about regional and world wars. They were behind World War I, when they were able to destroy the Islamic Caliphate, making financial gains and controlling resources. They obtained the Balfour Declaration, formed the League of Nations through which they could rule the world. They were behind World War II, through which they made huge financial gains by trading in armaments, and paved the way for the establishment of their state. It was they who instigated the replacement of the League of Nations with the United Nations and the Security Council to enable them to rule the world through them. There is no war going on anywhere, without having their finger in it."[124]

* Furthermore, Article 32 of the Covenant makes reference to The Protocols of the Elders of Zion:

"Today it is Palestine, tomorrow it will be one country or another. The Zionist plan is limitless. After Palestine, the Zionists aspire to expand from the Nile to the Euphrates. When they will have digested the region they overtook, they will aspire to further expansion, and so on. Their plan is embodied in the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion", and their present conduct is the best proof of what we are saying."

I don't think it's hyperbole to say if you can excuse this ideology, that you can excuse Nazi ideology.

They also target other groups as well.

List of suicide bombings alone, many of them teens that were taken and brainwashed to do so, sometimes under threats of their entire family being killed if they didn't:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Hamas_suicide_attacks

That's not counting rocket attacks (including many that happened right before Israel moved in), shootings and the like.

Nor is it counting PALESTINIANS that the Hamas party persecuted, tortured, and murdered for opposing the radical hate of the Hamas party (especially Fatah members, their greatest political rivals that are far less radical, and are willing to talk peace with Israel rather than demanding nothing less than its utter destruction).

And almost every single target of Hamas has been civilian. That is, TARGETED as opposed to Israeli "collateral damage." More:
http://www.amnesty.org/en/library/info/MDE21/006/2006

More in general on the awful sitch out there:
http://thereport.amnesty.org/eng/regions/middle-east-and-north-africa/palestinian-a uthority

Israel sucks, but in no way can Hamas be declared innocents or an ideology worth defending. The only excuse the Palestinians have for accepting it is their utter desperation (that, and the hundreds of them killed for resisting Hamas so that the rest of them live in terror of Hamas as they do of Israel).

I don't mind that people protest what Israel is doing, and has been doing for years, it's only when they actually support Hamas that I get worried.

But it does seem as if most people have never heard of Hamas until a few days ago and are getting Hamas-only propaganda fed to them, and are under the misconception that the Hamas ARE the Palestinians.

Hamas leaders have also called for the destruction of the USA. They call for death for all gays. They commit honor killings of women. Hamas is not only bad for Israel, but also the USA. Personally, I say they're bad for Palestine (they sure killed enough Palestinians themselves).

But I don't see a problem in supporting Palestine AS LONG AS you don't support Hamas. Nor do I think it's possible to work out peace with Hamas. Israel could (at least in theory, depending on their willingness to give) work out peace with the Palestinians who aren't active Hamas members, but not Hamas themselves.

I don't think you are hearing what I'm saying!
This is not an American forum ... Hello. Other countries have opinions on other countries.
I am not anti- Israel, I am and always have been anti- war.
There is no justification for the killing of innocent people whether it is Hamas or Israel.
I did not say that all of Palestinians are part of Hamas and I don't think you imply this either. What I am saying is that there is alot of history in this war that has nothing to do with 911.
The main and most important note I'm making is Hamas should hang it's head in shame for killing so many innocent people. So should Israel and particularly at this time as it is so many people. Can you even begin to imagine what those people are going through? It needs to stop. and it is Israel inflicting it.

Dervish the sad truth is that Israel HAS to talk to Hamas, there is no other way. Israel is terrorising Palestine and so in my eyes they are terrorists as much as Palestine (Hamas). I don't care how democratic or Western or holy their government is. It is all terror.
