People are so silly on here. Bashing each other nonstop and having temper tantrums. Boohoo. I wish people would talk more about their own life experiences and how they even apply to most of their threads instead of just cutting and pasting their way through every argument. But, as long as everyone's having fun.... IP: Logged |

I think if we utilize GU well, this can be an inspirational forum for all of us spiritual seekers. Being spiritual does not mean being apolitical; Oftentimes people quarrel on this forum and even put one another down, but for some, if not all, spiritual seekers, being politically active, caring about politics, is part of each of their spirituality, their spiritual way of life. Because politics affects our lives, we as spiritual seekers ought to care about politics at least to a certain extent, and that is a healthy attitude. Just as long as we make the best of this forum.D xxxxxxxxx IP: Logged |

actually - it isn't so bad. some people enjoy lively debate. remember the cartoon where the sheepdog and the other animal clock in and fight all day trying to kill each other, clock out at the end of the day and say, see you tomorrow? (showing my age) it's kinda like that, it isn't for everyone, true, but i truly enjoy strong personalities with differing opinions, it stimulates the brain, and that is something. IP: Logged |

i guess to livingin the midwest and coming form a wierd family, most strong language and biggoted or narrow minded postings don't really effect me as much. if you had some of the uncles i did, with thier politically incorrect viewpoints and colorful language and bigotted or racist at times viewpoints...it probobly wouldn't seem so offensive to you. i actually get a kick out of it. i even think my leo gramma did, kind and gentle woman she was, she just kinda smirked and acted like she didin't hear it. lived to be 99. and when my cousin had a baby with a illegal mexican, OMG - like i said, i have a uncle who isn't politically correct in any way, it was pretty funny to me. maybe i just know a lot of outrageous people, but that is what makes life colorful, how boring would life be without the wildcards of the world. and i guess i have a wierd sense of humor, so maybe i get a kick sometimes out of stuff that really isn't too funny. don't take it poersonally, you can't change the world, only yourself. hang in there kiddo.IP: Logged |

Spiritual seekers care about politics such as environmentalism, pacifism, animal rights etc. When people start ranting and become verbally abusive on this forum, it is a sad scene to watch. If individuals participating in the debates on this board are so keen on politics, perhaps they should get themselves involved in politics in some way, for instance, local politics, in their offine lives instead of arguing on the Internet, getting personal, and without real power to make a difference for the current political arena. If people are truly so enthusiastic about politics, trying to change things for better in their real lives would be more constructive. Nonetheless, as long as members of LL begin to realize that discussing politics in the cyberspace can only remain on the discussion level, and converse with one another in a civilized manner, than all is well.
