This is a poem I wrote three years ago. I'm VERY curious to find out what your reactions to it are. _____________________________________________
THE TWO FLYING JEFFRYS Boy, Dracula's in a good mood today Because the Ice Queen looked at my back with her wooden anchovy Yes, my back is a separate entity And the anchovy has mirrors for eyes Where is my disguise? I must have ate it. I can't get The Two Flying Jeffrys out of my mind I can't get The Two Flying Jeffrys out of my mind I can't get The Two Flying Jeffrys out of my mind I can't get The Two Flying Jeffrys out of my mind Tomatoes flying through the stratosphere Have bubblegum tissue for wings Listen to the wall as it sings Some Schubert, some Manson, sometimes it plays strings Celebrating the nothingness that everything brings The Two Flying Jeffrys are a state of mind The Two Flying Jeffrys are a state of mind The Two Flying Jeffrys are a state of mind The Two Flying Jeffrys are a state of mind I have something to give, I have something to give It is merely waiting for the right time to awaken And when it does, when it does, The Two Flying Jeffrys will arise once more. Yes, they will. Oded Aronson

I agree, this poem is VERY strange, but it is one of my personal favourites (so far). IP: Logged |

I love poems, even when they're so cryptic the author can't entirely figure them out! I think there's a lot to be said in the poem, it just has to be picked apart. Sometimes picking something apart destroys its beauty though, so the question is, should we try to figure it out line for line...or leave it be, admiring the word usage and the way it flows? 99% of this poem was based on a dream I had. I thought the dream was absolutely amazing, so I decided to write a poem about the characters. This was the result. There is hidden meaning in this poem, so it's exactly the same hidden meaning that was in the dream. IP: Logged |

So, this was an actual dream! How cool! My favorite line is:
Some Schubert, some Manson, sometimes it plays strings Celebrating the nothingness that everything brings I really love the way the poem flows. The images are very interesting. IP: Logged |

Bringing this back to the top for LMB. Okay, that should be enough reading for the next couple of years. IP: Logged |
