In 1996 when I found out about Linda's "passing", I was deeply invested in writing things that I wanted to teach and give to people. My words were filled with her message, I hope... keep in mind, I was only 17/18 so my style is significantly different, professionally speaking. But I think some of the words may speak to you since you all love Linda as much as I do. ****************************** SISTER, SISTER I learned from her I read her and I yearned for her To appear now would be a Trinity Miracle an answer to her Easter question of the rhyming of Life and Death Well, I wonder more persistently now, WHY? Why should I find such druidistic One-ness in the darkest hour of midnight And if Fate did, indeed, have a hand why take her away now? Does she know her answers yet? In her holy place? Answers to her “Where’s Sally” questions And her “are astral twins still oh-so-dangerous?” Even in the here-of-here she knew so much She knew where to find my teeny-tiny kingdom keys for she unlocked and let me Trine, so to speak She gave me the world on a swirly lollipop stick My words were similar to hers Just lost and vague not having a reason, yet, to manifest She knew when the time was right She knew when it was time for me To read or to stop-and-ponder For stop-and-pondering is an art Best taught by beloved Avatars and best learned by thirst-quenched druids. ************************************* A GENTLE MADNESS to anyone who will listen I have a Great Wish for you Do you know what that is? That wish is for you to dream to look with that Third Eye of yours at the splendific world around you and try, squeeze your two eyes shut and really try to remember when we were all… Seedlings looking up at the world with “baby vision” in awe of the branches that stretched to the Heavens and Beyond in awe of the realization that Love can take us there If we grab it by the hair and let it take us for a ride… A ride past faery circles where pixie-fine legs hop and skitter A ride through caverns Where gnomes – quiet, but gentle and wise – teach you that seedlings sprout into beautiful garlands of flowers if loved, and if love is given out. Try to remember when we all danced with the Twilight Playing hide-and-seek with Imagination and leap-frog with Fate accepting the wins and losses as they came Try to remember when the words were whispered into our ears, the jasmine-sprayed breath of our own personal God or Goddess teaching us: LOVE IS ALL That is my Great Wish for you. So dream, my fellow seedling For dreaming is a gentle madness quirking our smiles and tickling our egos for we think we know a little bit more than the next person. ***************************** DRUID-HONOUR I hereby make a promise To think about everything – all possibilities all questions and all answers – no matter if they relate or not. I promise to let loose my mind into The unknown Hallway of Knowledge not just the Literal Knowledge but Sensitive-Soul Knowledge. I promise to take heed to what I have been taught by my very first Avatar and my very second (not necessarily in that order) I promise to not just believe, but Know the druids and elves and faeries and Fate Though Fate may give me plenty of reasons not to. And I promise to now look with my Third Eye keep it open so it may see all the extraordinary beauty that I have missed. ****************************** copyright LMB 2001

LMB, that was absolutely beautiful. Your words are so filled with hope and beauty, it makes me HAPPY...and for a chronically depressed person such as myself, that is truly a miracle. Thank you. Keep writing, and I would love to see more! IP: Logged |

Thank you! It was good of me to look again at these poems as these poems often get put on the backburner b/c they are not as "publishable". But they are so important to me, re-minding me of a "time" when much hope and love had burst into my life. I sometimes forget those poems these days so it was good of me (and you) to remind mys-elf. thanks LMB IP: Logged |

What a wonderful tribute to Linda! Why did it take you so long to post them? This is right where they belong. I disagree with you--your poetry is VERY "publishable." ------------------ "We may not know what is right, but we always know what is wrong." Mahareshi Mahesh Yogi IP: Logged |

Not publishable?! You're kidding me!!! Those are truly beautiful poems LMB. You are not just a great poet there's a simplicity and deep, deep wisdom in your words that just about everbody can relate to. I haven't read poetry that I've enjoyed as much in a long, looong time. I especially loved A Gentle Madness. Druid Honour's really deep as well.I'm so glad you brought this to the top. IP: Logged |

Wow, thank you. I didn't write them to get published, though. Besides, I don't know what place would - what type of place they would fit in with. Hhmm. I'm working on other poems getting publishsed, though. Working on my first book, actually. but thank you so much!! I was 17/18 when I wrote these and I hold them very dear to my heart. And I write like Linda?? Gee, what better compliment can I get? I'm beaming! LMB IP: Logged |
