DECEMBER December came this year with sunshine, Like a crystal clear spring day, Rays of hope, a new tomorrow, Recalling dreams of yesterday In a place now long forgotten But the memories linger still Where a song could heal the wounded And a wish could cure the ill. In a world that knew no hatred, Where we knew no fear or pain. Instead of enmity and violence, Love was all we had to gain. But those memories now are fading, Fragments lost amongst our dreams And our songs of Love and Magic Turn to suffering and screams. In a world of contradictions, Games, deception, lies and schemes. What appears upon the surface Is really nothing as it seems. Wanting love is now a weakness, Needing people is a sin, Being honest makes you feeble. Hide your tears behind a grin. Wanting warmth now makes you needy, Showing passion is a crime, Commitment is a violation, Trust is just a waste of time. Though December's warmth has gone now, I'll believe the stars above. There's somewhere warm and kind and gentle Ruled by innocence and love.by hrj777

To be truly, and utterly honest, Heidi..... That just took my breath away! What magical and well-put verse. And sadly enough, so true about how our society is changing, cutting and demeaning real raw emotions. Again, big thumbs up! ------------------ -K "Most people love with restraint As if they were someday to hate We hated gently, carefully As if we were someday to love"-Venus Trines at Midnight IP: Logged |

Beautiful, Heidi! I'm sure many will relate to this; for me, as one Lunar Scorpion from another. It touches on feelings I carry but rarely express. Good job! ------------------ "Yes, I am a dreamer.
