When will I meet,
people that parallel,
my unique topics of interest,
yet will not think me too sheltered?
I really don't drive,
I've never been drunk,
I avoid getting high,
I've never been on a date.
I vehemently deny
the label they stick on me
I'm not a "goody-two-shoes"
And I don't long to be free
Of the "restrictions" and pressures
put in place by my home
I'm far too responsible
A mini adult that feels alone

Interesting. I felt similarly when I was a freshman in college and getting hazed in the Marching Band.

Wow. VAA, would you mind if I asked your age? That is EXACTLY how I felt in highschool. Scary. Almost to close for comfort. And there I was thinking I was the only one.

Hey tink, that's cool that you were able to identify with my poem! I did survive what I have termed, "Hell High", and have a multitude of tortured verse to document that fact.
And still, this specific poem is, to clarify, about my reactions to my first semester of college. I am 18 years of age, as of September 12th.
