College is supposed to bring
a whole new welcoming crowd
A fresh start from past failures
with more freedoms allowed
A wider range of personalites
with whom to connect
They never bother telling you
it's ust more times to be reject
The guys are more mature, I guess
in subtler ways here
And the arrogant swagger lingers
They regard me with a mix of disdain and fear
Frusteration resulting from no gain
brings deep-seeded pain to my face
Realizing nothing's truly changed
That's quite hard to erase

got a text message from one of last years' housemates last night (freshers' party down the students' union) "this sucks".

It is disappointing but i suppose if you want a drastic change you have to go somewhere else or make it yourself.. both of which require huge amounts of effort

It puts the whole apathy into words very well though - great stuff

I'm trying to put that change into effect myself...it's just taking so much darn effort... But I suppose all I can do is give college life my best shot, and let time tell the outcome.

VAA, it does get better Are you going to O.U ? Thats where I went & I saw so much of it there. Most were wealthy & I was not . Plus, I was older and made it harder to fit in. I simply decided I was there to learn & quit worrying about it. I was my own clique and nobody challenged me Chin up!

Juni...how did you know? Yes, I am, and things are definitely looking up now. I have been getting "A"s in Chem lab and lecture, so my ego is being well fed again, which helps. Don't feel as much like a failure anymore.
