The streets are cold
Colder than when they're empty
And the things we're told
As children aren't helping any

The mechanism's unconcerned
With the human waste of what it does

Politicians HIDE their eyes
Down in line buying time at the TV_STATION

Step outside the hype and find
A hole concealing what it does

As an astrologer, the person who wrote that has Uranian transits, probably a square or an opposition. Neptune too. I suspect the 9th house is either natally afflicted or has transits making hard aspects.

(So either our boy is a delusional nutbag, or he's got some pretty profound world changing philosophy running through his head right now. Most likely the former.)

This piece is likely meant to tell the story of some unknown hacker who managed to take hold of MSNBC's main satellite(TELSTAR12) signal, using it to send out a message to millions of people. Somewhere in the middle of his message, MSNBC gets wise and cuts him off, restoring the main network signal feed. He has the message routed to the web, maintaining his anonymity by using a script that automatically redirects text to various forms, and submits them on boards all over the web.

To me it symbolizes the power of a single voice. It shows how a single committed individual has great power. It also symbolizes the struggle of the individual to be heard over the clamor of society and its media machine.

In addition, I think it is a very telling that the themes are almost all Aquarian in nature. Fight the system, think about each other, think about the future, 11:11 (11th house Eleventh sign), technology, mass media, rebellion and awakening.

I also think that the poem is really a song that the poet probably sings to himself in the shower when he thinks nobody's listening.

My favorite parts of the piece?

I like the fact that he gets cut off right as he's saying:

Stop letting them FEED us information

Then he gets cut off and shortly after, we see this message:

--MAIN FEED RESUMED--

(A feed, as most of you are aware, being the industry lingo for a connection to a remote signal.)

The other thing I liked was the throughout the poem, he repeats that they are "filling our heads with information" and the first message visible to viewers after the network restores its signal is:

"We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming..already in progress."

I thought that was about the coolest thing I've written in...I mean I've seen..in a long time.
