I just wanted to let you folks know something that has only been alluded to by me up until now, which is this:

My career as a software engineer has been left behind to take up the fight for a dream. I will pursue that dream until the day I die, and long after it is achieved, you're reading the words of its staunchest defender.

That dream has me living at this very moment in a world much like this forum. In my eyes I see a world of love versus hate, one of unity versus division.

It's been said before, and now again..you are the special people in my life. You recharge my batteries and give me hope that something better lies hidden deep within the heart of the human race.

With that in mind, there is a special favor that I would request of you:

Please read this.

We have started. It has been a matter of taking_it_to_the_streets in this most recent effort for 9 days now.

There is much work to be done and there are so many of you that would like to see change.

There ARE no retributions for raising your voice, unless you consider lighting a flame that sets the world alight a retribution.

We need those of you who want something better. We need you at least to show your numbers so that those numbers can inspire others that would act. It doesn't take much. Come discuss this change with us. Come talk with us and share your ideas. Is that anymore than you would be spending your time doing here anyhow?

Yes, there is silliness to be had and to be enjoyed, but there is a somber, saddened side to most of you as well.

The side that wishes mom, dad, the wife or the kids would spend just a LITTLE more time looking into your eyes and laughing with you..listening to you.

Many of us come here, because it is here that we find that sense of community that we cannot find elsewhere. Many of us come here because we are allowed to express ourselves without fear of anything more than the occasional digital graffiti artist.

My life is dedicated now to making the world a better place. There is no turning back for me, my career lies in ruins, and good riddance. What gain is there for me in good food, good drink, nice cars and big houses, when all of those things come at a cost to you and the others around me?

I cannot ask you to believe my beliefs. Nor would I want you to.

Freedom is my lover and humanity my friend. Your character, diginity and individual personalities are my solace and my teacher. Your beliefs are yours, and would that the universe would see them soar as you have imagined that they should.

At least...come share them with us. Come tell us what your dreams for unity and a better world are. At the very worst, you will have said your piece. At the very best, you will have taken a step toward making those dreams come true.

So 11 has been a very powerful number here in this Age of Aquarius. It is related to the sensitive information that I allude to in another post.

Well the name just came to me. I have no other way of explaining it. I'm not the first, that much is obvious, because the name Elevenation.com was already taken. If I weren't flat broke(4 kids) and without credit cards, I would have already grabbed elevenation.org, but unfortunately, I am and I don't have any, so it's still out there floating. I was hoping that I would get it for my birthday on Tuesday, but alas...still no credit card.

I like the name for several reasons. It is symmetrical and I am Libran. It seems to say.."the lifting up" of something. It reflects the notion of a unified people and..something I only noticed later, after coming up with the name..it has eleven letters.

We're still looking for input on the board. There are posts that ask the questions..simple questions that any of you could respond to..with no fear of looking silly or being wrong. There IS no wrong when you present your own beliefs.

Things such as, who are you and what are your interests and ideas?
Or what would you like to see in a unified nation?
What does unity mean to you?

If you folks could just participate in THOSE two posts, it would be a GREAT help that would be VERY appreciated.

I want this to be a place for the free exchange of ideas. Ideas about dreams, hopes, ideas for acting to promote unity. Whatever comes to mind that doesn't divide us is welcome there.
