She realized with frightening clarity and hidden disdain that through every event in her life, the simple, intrinsic truth was the end.
The means to the ever-present, ever-changing end.
For her travels, she acquired a mass of knowledge and love and countless strings of emotion. Growing greater and greater.
Changing with every action.
But she was aware of its presence.
A personification of the ideals she held in the safe place behind her eyes.
Through her experiences, little truths chipped away.
Pieces of that mass dropped to her feet in little bundles. Collecting,
as if they were a reminder of ruin constantly threatening.
Little by little, realities she'd gathered through the paths she'd taken, by choice or random searches, fell on her and shed from her so easily.
Soon she discovered the realities she'd based them all on were like fine sand through her fingers - so hard to hold onto with the natural cracks and crevaces her hands had evolved to. Then she realized the pieces weren't really missing.
She wasn't really searching.
The constant but flux mass she'd built wasn't crumbling.
It was meant to take shape.
And the parts that fell simply gathered, and alluded to the shape that would come if she held onto the memories and the lessons learned through each falling piece.
