Taking off the spectacles
Setting them atop the book
Vision goes blurry
Glasses rest upon the words
"and Read the Aura"
It reads simply: "How to See"
And it seems this is true.

Looking out the bathroom window
Noting reflected images
The glare
The cars, trees and buildings outside
I lower the frosted pane over the scene
The images disappear
Just the lights, as stars, remain
With branch-shaped shadows flickering there
It seems this is true.

Lowering this face into the water
Hair falls around it
Masking off what is not immediately before it
There is a faucet
A stream of water coming from it
Yet, this close to the surface
Only ripples and reflections are seen
And it seems that this is true.

Seeing was believing once
Believing is a lie
Conviction binds, ties
Closing minds, hearts and lives
Breaking free from its constriction
I close my eyes
And realize
That this, indeed, is true.

Tink,

Thanks so much for your encouragement. Unfortunately...I'm STILL looking for an illustrator. I can't believe how difficult this has been. I've had the book lined up, organized and layed out (minus illustrations) for almost two years now...and no illustrator.

Passenger...thank you. It is said that the praise of one's peers in art is the highest of praise. I believe that applies here.

I'm sorry to hear that daf. I thought you had someone lined up? It will happen. I know it will.

I really did feel this one. *sigh* Truth. It's a big one this lifetime. I sometimes feel like Jacob wrestling with the Angel. Ah, the futility! Know what I mean? Anyway, it's copied and placed in my "Immortal Poems of the English Language". Right next to A Smile to Sustain Me. (Still my very favorite)

What more can I say? Still the same old word...BEAUTIFUL.

Illusion is true. The real world is an illusion.

What is illusion? What is true?

Daf,
Are you still looking for an illustrator? I have an illustrator looking for a book. She has read your poetry and likes it. I only have one of her works but it is beautiful. I have scaned to my computer but am at a loss at how to post it so you can see it. Can you tell me how to post it here, or if you are interested maybe Randal could get you my e-mail addy? i hesitate to post it here for fear of lurking goblins.Randal if Daf wants it he can have my e-mail. I don't know but it seemed that I knew two people who could benifit eachother. They just needed to meet.
Disregard if you no longer need an illustrator.
