Shallow valleys and grand divides.
Grant me a piece.. I mean peace.
Water can be shallow, it depends upon the chalice,
entirely upon the container which contains and retains
a sense of purpose
or delusion
and sometimes intrusion.
Shallow rivers forged with deep oars
that scar the bottom of the river's bed.
Sometimes a raging fire entertains on the shore
and sometimes the water feels a deep need to smoulder the flames
force them back before one is consumed and the other reduced to steam.If I had a gentle voice
I would use it
If I had the strongest words I would use them too.
Tools to stain the air so you'd see it.
Or I'd see it,
hovering in front of both of us. A great and tough and powerful smashing of words thrusting through the air between us.
Not in attack.
But in greeting.
In resolute but fleeting,
meeting.
Just to show I understand.....
Which is why I kiss deeply and fling forgiveness with one full set of lips
and cling and caress with my hands, maybe sting a little with my fingertips
If only I didn't understand......
We have broken the container before we truly drank of it.
The water wasn't pure, it's true.
But .........
neither was I and
