As the mid-afternoon sun shines Insouciantly I walk by The river beside the golden shrines With a holy, holy eye Closest to the empire's sky A view that so much inclinesI arrive at a place green and bright Where the grand palace is nigh; There are young and fine ladies in white The summer air is cool and dry; There is no need to wonder why This is a city of great delight Young and old, rich and poor From all over doth come hither; One can always get more and more The gentry, artists or a worker; The morrow will always present splendour Welcoming all like a wide open door Tho' some may need to struggle This marvellous beauty one can't deny; One will never find this place dull And will fall for her should he try; Many can have such spirits high This city, of which elegance is full IP: Logged |

First of all, thanks aqua. Me? I don't consider that I've written that much. I just jot things down whenever I've got inspiration and I let it flow. I love poetry (but what matters is not quantity, but quality, and that's my weakness).IP: Logged |
