Written 31/12/02 in the midst of heartbreak  it was just what came out of me and not modified it since.The Fight Words & I
Don't always touch base
You can't always see me.. expressions misplaced
Frustration when talents aren't being taxed
Restructure priorities when beliefs collapse
Below expectations when goals shift sight
Reality swipes you
Prepares you to fight.
Emotions become your boxing glove
Face opponents with anger
'Cos there is no love.
I lost that battle
Knew I wasn't prepared
Fighting blind.. I was so scared
They were yelling at me
And my head was thumping
I didn't fall once..
I couldn't help stumbling
I suddenly screamed..
The canvas ripped apart
The pain tore through me
I looked down at my heart
Pure love had burst all over the place..
Stored up and unused
Finally escaped
I lay there exhausted..
And numb from the pain
From that moment on..
I was never the same.
Now I'm back in training
Getting better & stronger
I remember the pain..
Though I feel it no longer.
I'm learning to fight
Without getting sore
'Cos a heart without pain
Means you lose no more.
