Lying there She's scared Staring at the ceiling Don't know what she's feeling She feels like she's going to cry She knows she's probably going to die Waiting The hospital air is stinking Injured and ill people everywhere And she can go nowhere A tear rolls down from her eye 'I don't want to die' Like a dead animal on a walking track And the staff are ready to 'pack' Her, and cut her with knives If a miracle happens, and she survives Will she still be her original self? Will she lose her Higher S-elf? Thinking about the man she loves 'Will I ever see him again? Even if I will, will I be able to talk again? Will I remember him? If I don't, I won't have any reason to live Yet, if I don't remember him, I won't remember who I am, either So how will I know whether I'm still alive or an empty body? I have dreams But will they just remain dreams? Forgotten dreams? I could have been somebody But now I'm rapidly fading away' 'Before I go I want to tell you In my exact words I do love you (I know you're not a saint, but-) I do love you You've relieved my pain You've brought me ecstacy You mean a lot to me My body may be decaying but my soul will recall you always We aren't meant to be But I just want you to know You shine through my window' Lying there She's scared The hospital is so cold And she can't get out of this mould 'If only you were here with me All the time I may not be afraid of death Will I ever see you again? Will I remember your name?' She feels utterly helpless Things just look hopeless Modern medicine is useless 'Where am I heading?' IP: Logged |

Thank you pixelpixie, 26taurus and aqua! This will be my last poem posted here at LL for the next while- whether it will be a long whlie or a short one I just don't know yet. I will still respond to you fellow knowflakes' replies should I receive any, but I can no longer compose poems here due to serious personal reasons. So, goodbye.IP: Logged |

Real elevated feeling there, huh Eternal? You know ~ most of your poems have a deep historical twinge to them. You know those informative historical programmes, sometimes shown on television, or the ones you can get on VT? I could see your poetry read out over images you describe. Really. So much talent on this small corner of the web I admire. quote: "Before I go I want to tell you In my exact words I do love you (I know you're not a saint, but-) I do love you..
Oh so real! Ready.. set.....Start copywriting!! IP: Logged |

Sheaa, I'd like to thank you for the very encouraging feedback...this poem is about despair and love. And yes, in some way, the part you quoted actually comes from the heart...I've written a few very personal poems in the past week but I may not be going to post them here. They are just too personal- it's not that I don't want to share, it's just that my feelings are way too complex and conflicting...Like I said before, I am really fond of history, and hopefully in the future I will write more about it- history is fascinating!
