The climax coming before the beginning
it seemed

Was it equal parts wish fulfillment,
with equal parts cunning?
It was fated, no doubt.
inevitable it seemed, like all we had to do was fall together and the pieces fit

And we're on the way to Mensa with this.
Grab the darkened end seat at the back of the bus
where the shadows are tall enough to obscure
