It seemed urgent. Like the world was coming to an end, and everybody better quick and pick a buddy. And I wanted to say to her, “Look, some real **** ’s about to go down, and I’m gonna need someone, and so are you, and…” And she would look at me all brilliant and incredible, and she’d tell me “Yes,” she’d say, “Yes, I know. And yes, I’ll be your partner. I'll weather this massive storm with you, and you with me. I’ll be your bloody valentine.”And then I’m in another room, and she’s not there, but I can hear her laughing – is it her? – I think its her, she’s laughing in this awful way, and I think “She doesn’t love me,”. This is where my eyelids flushed, when I began almost to awaken, and there was, as it were, the strains of mundane consciousness a’ creeping. You can’t fight that. Not when you don’t want to. Daylight, wakefulness, and there is the distinctive flavor and memory of you. Feels like I just saw you now. It makes me miss you, makes my heart crumple, like an arthritic fist in my breast. “I miss you,” I say aloud, and almost believe that you can hear me. I don’t care where you are, or what you’re doing, only that you’re thinking of me. Missing me, as I’m missing you. Loving me with the same deep and restless love. Reaching out for me, even if I’m not there. And I know that, when I see you, your joyful gaze will break my heart again. I cannot bear it, the beauty of your way.

I think my favorite part is: she would look at me all brilliant and incredible, or maybe this part: I think its her, she’s laughing in this awful way, and I think “She doesn’t love me, or maybe even this part:
I cannot bear it, the beauty of your way.Keep 'em coming! I really love your style! (And I hope I'm not embarrassing you... I can be intrusive sometimes with my enthusiasm!)

And those are my favorite lines too. And when I read this: “Look, some real **** ’s about to go down, and I’m gonna need someone, and so are you, and…” I thought you had been in my head years ago. Did we all have the same dreams back then????? I wonder why.
Was the crisis averted? Was it collective Nostradamus fear? How weird. Back then I... well... nevermind.
