It seemed urgent. Like the world was coming to an end, and everybody better quick and pick a buddy. And I wanted to say to her, “Look, some real **** ’s about to go down, and I’m gonna need someone, and so are you, and…” And she would look at me all brilliant and incredible, and she’d tell me “Yes,” she’d say, “Yes, I know. And yes, I’ll be your partner. I'll weather this massive storm with you, and you with me. I’ll be your bloody valentine.”

And then I’m in another room, and she’s not there, but I can hear her laughing – is it her? – I think its her, she’s laughing in this awful way, and I think “She doesn’t love me,”.

This is where my eyelids flushed, when I began almost to awaken, and there was, as it were, the strains of mundane consciousness a’ creeping. You can’t fight that. Not when you don’t want to.

Daylight, wakefulness, and there is the distinctive flavor and memory of you. Feels like I just saw you now. It makes me miss you, makes my heart crumple, like an arthritic fist in my breast. “I miss you,” I say aloud, and almost believe that you can hear me. I don’t care where you are, or what you’re doing, only that you’re thinking of me. Missing me, as I’m missing you. Loving me with the same deep and restless love. Reaching out for me, even if I’m not there. And I know that, when I see you, your joyful gaze will break my heart again. I cannot bear it, the beauty of your way.

Wow! I've been feeling very similar to this, lately.

quote:
“I miss you,” I say aloud, and almost believe that you can hear me.

Right on, HSC!

And then there was the dream of you ... its like emerging from a dark deep forest full of haunting saturnine realities and stepping into a driven snowy landscape of lunar fantasies ...

And yet, as I look back, my footsteps can be seen and already I can hear the echoes of their screams ... the demons are following me, leaving a blood strewn trail and soon, oh so soon, they will find my dreamland and the dreamy looney moon guiding my way ... and I gather my courage, I cower inside, fearing the dark clouds on the horizon

Run, brave horse, find your wide open space ... find your blue skies before the darkness of forever that clouds my moon ... drowns your soaring wings.

HAMLET
My excellent good friends! How dost thou, Guildenstern? Ah, Rosencrantz! Good lads, how do ye both?

ROSENCRANTZ
As the indifferent children of the earth.

GUILDENSTERN
Happy, in that we are not over-happy;
On fortune's cap we are not the very button.

HAMLET
Nor the soles of her shoe?

ROSENCRANTZ
Neither, my lord.

HAMLET
Then you live about her waist, or in the middle of her favours?

GUILDENSTERN
'Faith, her privates we.

HAMLET
In the secret parts of fortune? O, most true; she is a strumpet. What's the news?

ROSENCRANTZ
None, my lord, but that the world's grown honest.

HAMLET
Then is doomsday near: but your news is not true. Let me question more in particular: what have you, my good friends, deserved at the hands of fortune, that she sends you to prison hither?

GUILDENSTERN
Prison, my lord!

HAMLET
Denmark's a prison.

ROSENCRANTZ
Then is the world one.

HAMLET
A goodly one; in which there are many confines, wards and dungeons, Denmark being one o' the worst.

ROSENCRANTZ
We think not so, my lord.

HAMLET
Why, then, 'tis none to you; for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so: to me it is a prison.

ROSENCRANTZ
Why then, your ambition makes it one; 'tis too narrow for your mind.

HAMLET
O God, I could be bounded in a nut shell and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams.

GUILDENSTERN
Which dreams indeed are ambition, for the very substance of the ambitious is merely the shadow of a dream.

HAMLET
A dream itself is but a shadow.

I think my favorite part is: she would look at me all brilliant and incredible, or maybe this part: I think its her, she’s laughing in this awful way, and I think “She doesn’t love me, or maybe even this part:
I cannot bear it, the beauty of your way.

Keep 'em coming! I really love your style! (And I hope I'm not embarrassing you... I can be intrusive sometimes with my enthusiasm!)

That is endearing - I have read it a hundred times and still love to read it!

Your words are so beautiful and so touchingly honest ... keep the coming, LH

And thanx future uncertain.
(btw, I LOVE enthusiasm!)

MY favorite lines are the first and last:

"It seemed urgent; like the world was coming to an end, and everybody better quick and pick a buddy."

"And I know that, when I see you, your joyful gaze will break my heart again. I cannot bear it, the beauty of your way."

bloody being the operative - how deep does the pain have to be for it to be sacred enough to make you believe?

Suffering is the only test of love.

But THIS (love) IS NOT A TEST.

When the eyes of the faithful are opened,
true love is percieved; it is everywhere, it is all around.

I've had that dream
And those are my favorite lines too. And when I read this: “Look, some real **** ’s about to go down, and I’m gonna need someone, and so are you, and…” I thought you had been in my head years ago.

Did we all have the same dreams back then?????

I wonder why.
Was the crisis averted? Was it collective Nostradamus fear? How weird.

Back then I... well... nevermind.
